ONLYXP is a really hard survival server that never feels finished. The whole idea is that every player is always racing for experience before each wipe so the field stays even.
There are minimal custom coded plugins and there are no tp or spawn or sethome commands so you have to travel and survive for real. Ranks use xp so the time you spend grinding actually matters.
The world gets reset but the xp you earn does not. This makes every new week feel fresh because you log into a new world and choose new farms and new strategies to get as much xp as possible.
It feels like survival with a real goal instead of just sitting on stuff and waiting to be raided. Your builds and land reset but your grind and your xp stay.
If you want a peaceful chill server this is probably not for you. If you like the grind and like working in teams and like vanilla style pvp this server fits you really well.

I found this server called Anarchy Network and it is a semi anarchy Minecraft world that tries to feel like pure vanilla. It launched on October 11th 2024 and runs all the time.
You can join on Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10 and they say 1.21.10 is best so stuff does not break. The world border is massive and goes out to 2 million blocks so there is tons of space to run and hide.
There are no map resets and no teleport commands so you actually have to travel. There is no pay to win and griefing and pvp are totally allowed so bases are never really safe. The only special command is spawn so people way out can get back to other players. Nether roof travel is allowed and phantoms are turned off and only half the server has to sleep to skip the night.
They still have a few rules so it is not total chaos. You cannot use exploits or dupes or lag machines. You also cannot spam or use harassment or racial slurs in chat. So the server is wild but not totally toxic.
Overall it feels like a survival world where players control everything and staff just stop the super broken stuff.

This is a survival world that is meant to last for years not just for a season. The world does not reset so anything you build or destroy is going to stay. That makes progress feel important because it will not be wiped for no reason.
The server keeps things vanilla. TNT duping works and redstone behaves like normal so big farms and machines are possible. But unfair movement stuff and ESP or xray style cheats are actively blocked so survival still feels fair.
It is also not super crowded all the time. Sometimes it is really quiet and that is kind of the point. The world keeps going even when not many people are on. The server runs on version 1.21.10 and you can join on both Java and Bedrock.

Arcana SMP is a whitelisted survival server that tries to feel like a real long term world. It is made for people who are tired of drama and constant resets and servers that feel too messy.
The server is vanilla plus. It uses the latest Minecraft Java with Fabric performance mods and proximity voice chat so talking to people feels more natural. The gameplay is still survival and not full of crazy plugins.
