Anarchy Network is a semi anarchy Minecraft server that tries to stay really close to normal vanilla survival. It launched on October 11th 2024 and it is always online in New York City.
The idea is simple. There are almost no rules and almost no extra commands. You can fight other players and grief bases. There is no pay to win stuff and there are no map resets so the world actually matters and keeps its history.
You can join with Java versions from 1.7.2 all the way up to 1.21.11. The owner says it is best to use 1.21.10 so you do not run into weird issues.
The world border is huge and goes out to 2 million blocks in every direction. There is no random teleport or home command. The only main command you get is spawn so players far away can still come back to see other people. Nether roof travel is allowed and phantoms are turned off. Only about half the players in a world have to sleep to skip the night.
There are a few rules to keep the server playable. You cannot use exploits or dupes. You cannot build lag machines or spam chat. You also cannot harass people or use racial slurs. Besides that most things are allowed so you have to watch your back and decide who you can trust.

MaghrebSMP is a semi anarchy survival server where players can join on both Java and Bedrock. The world is huge so there is a lot of space to explore and build and hide your base.
The server is cracked so you can play in offline mode. It has a balanced economy system with bounties and duels and random teleport and leaderboards. You also get 5 personal homes and 1 team home which makes moving around way easier.
Every player gets a free crate key every hour which feels really rewarding. There are AFK shards too so even when you are not moving you can still progress.
The staff use anti xray and ESP protection and anticheat and antibot. There is also a special Anti Freecam System so people cannot just see your underground base and raid it. Combat log protection helps keep fights more fair.

This is a private style SMP that is all about roleplay and player stories. It feels like a mix of survival and semi anarchy with a big focus on how players interact and not just grinding.
Outside of spawn it is full anarchy. You can grief and steal and hide your base and backstab your friends. Inside spawn it is totally safe so no griefing or stealing there and that is where people are encouraged to build their best stuff for everyone to see.
There is a hard limit of only three maces that can ever exist on the whole server and once they are made that is it. Phantoms are turned off and the Nether and End are locked at the start so everyone has more fair progression and the border starts at 7000 by 7000 and expands over time.
The server wants you to make factions start wars and write your own story. Staff might add some lore if players need a little push but the main point is that players control the world.
There is also a server election where players vote for a President. The President can change rules so the whole community has to decide who to trust. It can really change how the SMP feels.
There is zero tolerance for cheating or server attacks. Stuff like lag machines or abuse is not allowed and breaking those rules means a permanent ban.

CaveMC Season 2 is a semi anarchy survival server where the whole overworld is underground. There is no surface at all. Everything is caves and underground biomes and structures. It feels like normal Minecraft but the world is flipped into a giant cave only map.
The server is enhanced vanilla and made with custom world generation by real Minecraft developers. Survival is pretty brutal and you have to be really smart with resources and exploring. Only the most careful and tough players will last long here.
There is a new huge feature called the Wasteland Dimension. It is not just one biome. It is a whole extra place with brand new powerful gear to fight for. This is a semi anarchy style server with a really weird death system. When you die in the overworld you get sent to a different dimension but you keep your items. If you die in that other dimension you lose everything. So you have to be careful or you are totally wiped.
There are three big nations you can join or you can just play alone. Interdimensional Raiders is the one for bounty hunters. They focus on hunting other players in the overworld to gain power and items. Sunburst is more for PvE players and they cannot be targeted by the raiders and just want to explore and learn about other dimensions. Xing is based on Fullmetal Alchemist and if you start there you begin with custom abilities and you have to build your whole progress around those abilities.
Right now the server is a work in progress. The owner keeps it online as much as possible and is still testing stuff so some features do not work yet but they are being worked on a lot. Custom items and mobs are planned and are coming pretty soon.
There is a 20 player limit at the moment so it feels like a small community. The only things that can get you banned are if you purposely try to lag or crash the server. Pretty much everything else is allowed because it is semi anarchy.

XYZ Vanilla is a semi vanilla survival server that feels close to normal Minecraft but with a few smart changes to make it more fun. It has a semi anarchy style so players get a lot of freedom and the rules are pretty light.
The world is meant to last a long time. There is no artificial world border and no planned map resets so builds can stay around. The server runs on hard difficulty so mobs hit harder and surviving actually matters.

I found this server called UneasyVanilla and it is a vanilla anarchy world with no hacking allowed. It has been running since March 10th 2020 so the world feels old and lived in.
The idea is to play Minecraft the way the developers made it. There are no gameplay changing plugins. There is no teleport and no sethome. There is no grief protection. There is no forced economy so players make their own trades and groups.
