SwiftServers is a Minecraft host that is actually free and still feels really smooth to play on. It is built to fix all the usual free host problems like long queues and lag and weird panels.
They use a custom control panel that is super simple and fast. It is not a reused panel skin. It feels clean and easy so you can start a server without being a tech genius.
You can make different types of servers like Vanilla or Paper or Spigot. So you can do a normal SMP with friends or a more plugin heavy setup.
The hardware is strong with 1 GB dedicated RAM and AMD EPYC Rome cores and 10 GB NVMe SSD storage and a 1 Gbit network. There is also enterprise level DDoS protection and a built in backup system so you can create and restore backups quickly.

GOOMB SMP is a vanilla SMP that just started a new season and the world is amplified so the terrain looks really crazy and cool. The world was reset about a month ago so people are still building up and making new bases in the huge mountains and floating cliffs.
At the start there was a world border so everyone had to build close together or share bases. Now the border expanded so there is way more space for everyone and lots of different base ideas. People are also getting ready to open the end this weekend so they can go get all the loot from there.
The discord is really active with players advertising their shops and posting screenshots of the terrain and talking about trades and deals. Voice chats are usually full with people hanging out and talking about their plans for the world so it feels like a tight community.
The rules are pretty strict about being respectful. There is no racism or hate speech no NSFW and no drama. No griefing no stealing and no PvP unless everyone agrees first. You are expected to be mature and use common sense.
To join you have to fill out an application first and then the moderators review it and if they accept you then you can get whitelisted. It feels like they care a lot about keeping the server friendly and chill and it makes the world feel like a safe place to play long term.

LegionCraft is a OneBlock survival server where you start on a tiny island and build it up piece by piece. It feels like classic survival but with a twist because every single block matters a lot.
The server has custom bosses that are actually important because they drop keys for rare loot. You fight them to get better gear and it makes the grind feel exciting instead of boring. There are also crates that give epic rewards so opening them feels really hype.
You can get custom enchants and spawners so your island slowly turns from a small starter block into a huge powerful base. The OneBlock islands are custom so it is not just the normal vanilla thing and you keep expanding and improving your world.

Reedwood SMP is a new crossplay server that is trying to be a safe place for people who just want to chill and make friends. The whole idea is to give players a spot where they can relax and feel comfortable.
The server is still in development so they keep things pretty controlled. You join the discord then fill out a simple application and then you can connect. It feels more like a small community instead of a giant random server.

This server is called BetaBuddies and it runs Minecraft beta 1.7.3. It is a vanilla server so it tries to feel like classic Minecraft with the old school beta vibe.
