This server is like old school Minecraft where you just survive and try not to get jumped.
It is a simple survival world with pvp on and griefing allowed so you really have to watch your back. There are no land claims and no safe zones. If you build something someone can raid it. If you want loot you go and take it.
There are no crazy plugins or complicated rules. It is mostly pure survival like the game is meant to be played. You can build a base hide your stuff form teams with other players or completely betray them. Everything like that is fair game.
The server runs all day and it is made for a smaller active community not a giant laggy server. Right now there are only a few people playing so new players can still catch up and the world is not super developed yet.
Players here like pvp but they also are not trying to be super toxic. Griefing in game is fine but being a jerk in chat is not. They are looking for people who will play at least somewhat regularly and not disappear after one day.
If you want a simple survival pvp server with no teleports no land claims and a focus on raiding and defending your own base this server really fits that style.

I found this server called RelicSMP and it is a brand new vanilla style SMP that just started. The world is fresh so everyone is still building up and making the first bases and stories.
The server is vanilla with a few quality of life plugins so it still feels like normal Minecraft. It is whitelist only so the community stays more friendly and chill.
The Nether just opened recently so players are still exploring it and gearing up. There is also a separate forever world so people can keep their builds safe if they want.
Overall it feels like a chill community focused survival server where players help shape what happens next and can be part of the lore from the beginning.

PeaMC is a simple survival server that feels like old Minecraft. There is no teleporting and no land claiming so you actually travel through the world and pick your own spot to live. It is meant to feel like singleplayer but with other people around you.
The server is crossplay so Java and Bedrock players can join together. You can also make teams and invite your friends so you do not have to play alone if you do not want to. PvP is allowed so you can fight other players but it is not total chaos.
The rules are pretty clear. No hacks or exploits and no harassment or slurs. You are not allowed to grief or steal so you cannot destroy bases or kill pets or steal items from other bases. Spawn killing is not allowed either. Destructive PvP like respawn anchors end crystals and minecart bombs is not allowed because it can wreck builds and that counts as griefing.
The community is described as chill and friendly and the owner and mods are active in game and on Discord. There are no annoying plugins in your face so it stays close to vanilla survival. You just survive travel build and make friends like the old days.
