This server is called The Nations SMP and it is all about politics and borders and player made countries. The world is a big 20k by 20k map so there is a lot of land to fight over or protect.
They use special claiming and diplomacy plugins that let you literally draw borders on the map and make treaties and custom agreements. So you can set up nations make alliances or break them and get deep into wars and deals.
The staff team is experienced and they run these events for a long time. They like to turn the server into civilization style videos so they need a lot of players to make the world feel active.
They want to reach 150 members before they fully start and they already have over 60 people. If you like politics diplomacy and faction style gameplay this server is built for that.

This server is a towny survival world mixed with a kitpvp arena so it feels like two games in one. The main world is about building towns and claiming land with towny so players can make cool bases and whole communities.
There is also mcmmo and jobs so you level up skills and earn money just by playing. It feels like normal survival but with more progression because your abilities get better over time and you can get paid for the stuff you already like doing.
The kitpvp arena uses balanced kits so fights are about skill and not who spent more money. The owner is very clear there is no pay to win and the player shops and crates are set up to be fair instead of super overpowered.
The rules seem pretty chill and the focus is on being respectful and having fun. New players are welcome and towns are recruiting so you do not have to play alone. There is also crossplay for java and bedrock so more friends can join together.

This server is called Cozy Craft and it is all about simple survival.
When I joined it felt really clean and not full of random stuff. It is semi vanilla so it feels like normal Minecraft. The focus is just surviving and building with other people.
There are only minimal plugins. Nothing crazy or confusing. It just feels like Minecraft the way it is supposed to be. The server wants to be long term so you can actually stay and work on big projects.
The community is SMP style and seems pretty chill. It is more about playing together and not about weird game modes. If you just want a calm survival world with other players this server fits that really well.

This server is a long term survival world that has been around for years and it really feels like it. The owner has kept the same overworld and nether so people can build big projects without worrying about random wipes.
It is mostly a vanilla Minecraft experience with no pay to win and no money plugin. There is no whitelist so you just join and play. You get grief protection with claims and CoreProtect is running but grief is allowed if you forget to claim your area.
Both Java and Bedrock players can join and the version is in the 1.21 range. There is no set world border and no main spawn town. You spawn randomly around the world and you can use rtp to teleport far out and then set a home once you find a spot you like.
There is a public shopping district where anyone can apply for a shop. The server also runs free events with prizes. There is an online world map and player stats so you can look around and see what people made. Chat reports are disabled and the server rules are listed on their main site so everyone knows what to expect.
Overall it feels like a chill public SMP for people who want a simple survival world that will stay around for a long time and not reset every few months.
