This server is called All Outta Blocks and it feels like a big friend group that plays Minecraft together.
It is an 18 plus Java whitelist server so everyone is older and it is a bit more chill. There are usually around 5 to 25 people on during the day and they say the whole community is about 120 players.
The server is like a Hermitcraft style SMP. There is a diamond based economy and a shopping district where people make shops. There are also public builds and big projects that players work on together.
Most players use proximity chat so talking feels more natural when you walk near someone. There are homes and player warps and some cosmetic and quality of life plugins. New plugins are added based on what the community asks for and votes on.
The owners try to keep the normal vanilla feeling of Minecraft while still letting the server grow and change if the community wants it. They always want more people to join and they sound very welcoming.

Pixel Springs is a cozy modded SMP on 1.20.1 that is made for builders collectors and chill players who want a long term world that does not reset. It feels like a place where you can actually settle down and slowly build up your base and your collections.
The server is packed with builder friendly decoration mods and tons of farming mods. There are also magic mods like Botania Hexerei Mystical Agriculture and Ars Nouveau. You can collect lots of items and use a custom FTB Quests system that guides you and gives rewards as you play.
There is an in game currency system where you earn coins from quests and daily rewards. You can use those coins to build a shop and be part of a shared shopping district and cozy market. There is also a separate resource world that resets so the main world can stay permanent while you still get fresh places to gather materials.
The community is small friendly and inclusive and it is easy to find a team and make friends. The admin team is active and answers questions and they do frequent backups because they really care about keeping the world safe. The server started a few months ago and they plan to keep it going for a long time so new players can still be part of the early days.

Sparked is a long term vanilla style SMP that feels like you just joined a friends server. It is simple on purpose and it is all about building and hanging out with people in a chill way.
There are players from lots of different backgrounds and they play kind of like hermitcraft but still keep their own style. The admins are active and they actually play and talk with everyone. They also keep the server running smooth and look after the world.
The server is very trust based. There are no land claims and almost no extra features. There are no big menus or popups and no warps. It really feels like normal Minecraft survival but with a group of mature people who respect each other.
Behind the scenes there are some protections so your builds are safe if something bad happens. The staff are open about server costs server specs and bans so it feels pretty honest.
They use a few datapacks like extra mob heads armor stands posing proximity voice chat bluemap and player heads. It is still basically vanilla but with some fun details for builders and explorers.
The community is meant for adults and people who want a calm and respectful place to play long term.

This server is called MistyMC and it is seriously pure vanilla. There are no teleport commands and no pay to win stuff so everyone has to actually play the game. You mine and build everything yourself and it really feels like classic Minecraft.
The world is long term and they do not reset it all the time. So if you grind for two months your progress will still be there. It is a real grind but that is kind of the point and it feels worth it when you finally get good gear and cool bases.
They let both Java and Bedrock players join which is nice because you can play with more friends. The community feels pretty inclusive and people seem to play fair and respect each other. If you want a simple survival world that is actually vanilla and not full of plugins then this server fits that really well.

Stormy Lagoon SMP is a survival multiplayer world that works on both Java and Bedrock. It feels like a place where people just want to chill and play Minecraft together.
The server is about normal survival with other players. You can join from Java or Bedrock so it is easier to play with friends. It is not full of crazy stuff and it just feels like a regular world where you can build and explore.
There is also a Discord where the community hangs out and talks. The owner is easy to find because their name is shared so it feels more personal.
If you just want to survive and build with other people on both Java and Bedrock this server looks pretty good.
