Lumenor SMP is starting its second season and it feels like a fresh new world.
The server is still on 1.21.11 and it uses via version and backwards plugins so it is pretty easy to join. It runs 24 7 and has servers for a lot of different continents so it feels really smooth and they say it has no lag.
Spawn has 2 mini games now so you can mess around there before you go out to survive. There are also plugins that make the gameplay feel different and kind of magical.
The world itself is not normal. There are custom biomes terrains and structures like dungeons and towers. Caves are bigger and better so exploring underground is actually exciting.
There is some kind of role choice system too but you have to join to see how it works. The owner and their developer clearly put work into adding a lot of new things so if you like SMP with extra features this server is worth checking out.

This is a simple SMP where the whole idea is to play together and just have fun as a community. It runs on version 1.21.11 and feels like a chill place to hang out and build.
The rules are really focused on being kind to each other. You can swear a little if you rage but no slurs at all. Griefing is not allowed and you are not allowed to steal from people. You also cannot go around killing other players unless both players agree to a 1v1 or something like that.
The server owner is still building up the community and wants everyone to have fun together. They also need staff and moderators so if you like helping run servers this could be a good place to try.
Overall it feels like a small friendly SMP where people just want to play fair and relax.

This is a free modded survival server that is running long term and feels pretty active. When I joined it already had a growing community and people actually talk and help each other.
The main world has a big city getting built and it keeps expanding. Players are making shops and running their own economy with trades and deals instead of using mod based money. It feels like players decide how the server market works.
Everyone seems really friendly and they help new players get started on their journey. You can join alone or bring a whole team of friends.
There is also a war idea for the future for people who want to fight and do big battles. If you do not want to take part you can stay safe because claims protect you from death grief and loot stealing so you are not forced into pvp.

This is a server for people who are tired of boring worlds that die in a week. It is made so you can play how you want without a ton of rules or staff yelling at you.
If you want to chill you can just build farm and vibe at your own speed. No one will bother you if you just want to relax and do your own thing.
If you like to sweat you can focus on pvp start fights or play like it is factions. Both playstyles are welcome and the server does not pick one side over the other.
There is no fake grind added just to waste your time and there is no cozy roleplay stuff. The rules are simple because the owner expects people to act like adults without a giant rule book.

HermitiaSMP is a small hermitcraft inspired survival server that is all about community and working together. It feels like a chill place where people know each other and like to hang out and build.
The server runs weekly events to keep things active. Some events are in game and some are in real life and even art competitions. It looks like they really try to help new players join in fast and feel like part of the group.
There is optional proximity voice chat so you can talk to people that are near you in game. There are community builds and event houses where you can join a house and earn points for it. So it is not just solo survival. You actually team up and compete in a fun way.
The server uses a custom HermitiaSMP datapack and some quality of life mods that add on to normal vanilla Minecraft. They also use anti grief plugins like CoreProtect so your builds are protected and people can not just ruin stuff.
