This is a Bedrock realm called Ruins Legacy Realms and it just started a new season so everything feels fresh. The world uses a 1 to 4000 earth map with normal Minecraft structures and biomes so it feels like playing on a huge version of the real world.
You can claim your own land and stay peaceful if you want. You can just build a base or a city and focus on cool builds. Or you can start wars fight other people and do PvP. You can also do both so builders and pvp players can all find something fun here.
The realm is mostly vanilla so there are no crazy laggy addons or big mods. It feels like normal Minecraft which makes it simple and clean to play.
There are rules so things do not go totally insane but the rules are chill and there is still a lot of freedom. It is made for people who want a mix of building and fighting without too many extra plugins.

GOOMB SMP is a vanilla survival server in an amplified world and it looks really crazy and cool. The terrain is super tall and wild so bases end up in awesome spots.
The world was reset a few weeks ago so everyone is still pretty new and building up. There is a 6k by 6k world border so people are kind of close together which makes it feel active and not empty. Later the border will grow so there will be more room for bigger plans and new bases.
The Discord is really busy with people posting screenshots of builds and terrain and also talking about trades and shop ideas. Voice chats are often full of people just hanging out and talking about plans for the world so it feels like a real community.
The server has clear rules. No griefing or stealing and no unconsented PvP. No racism or hate speech and no NSFW stuff. You have to be respectful and try to keep drama away and use common sense. It is meant to be a mature and chill place to play.
To get on the Minecraft server you first apply to join their Discord where the mods check your application. After that you can ask to be whitelisted. It feels like they really care about keeping the server safe and friendly.
This is season 2 of GOOMB SMP so it feels like a fresh start but with people who want to stay and build for a long time.

NisseSMP is a HermitCraft style server that plays like vanilla but with a few small quality of life plugins. It feels like normal survival and not like some crazy modpack.
The world is getting a full reset and a new map so everyone can start fresh together. The server runs a player made economy with shops trading and virtual money so people can sell stuff they grind for.
The server is based on trust. There are no land claims. People just respect builds and that is a main rule. There is no pvp so you do not have to worry about getting killed by other players.
Both Java and Bedrock players can join so more friends can play together. There is no whitelist so you can just hop in and start playing. During busy times there are usually a bunch of people online so it does not feel empty.
If you want simple survival with a strong community and no griefing this server fits that really well.

GildedAbyss is a new modded SMP that is all about the community and how everyone interacts with the world. Season 1 is not open yet and they want more players before it starts so you can help shape how the server will feel.
The world has tons of biomes because it uses Biomes o Plenty and Terralith so exploring actually feels fresh. There are special items you can get with certain methods and there are more ores that make progression feel different with new tools and weapons.
One of the coolest things is Ancestral Archetypes. You can pick a sub race in game and use its abilities to your advantage. There is also the Create mod so you can build all kinds of machines as long as they are reasonable.
The owner really wants suggestions and plans to add more stuff before the server officially opens. There will be a lot of events once the season begins and the goal is to make everything fun for the players.
You get whitelisted with a ticket system where you talk to the owner or a moderator. If they think you are a good fit you get added and can join in on the start of Season 1.

ForgeStone SMP is a modded Stoneblock 4 world where everyone starts underground and builds out from nothing. The whole server is about automation questing and making giant bases deep below the surface.
The server runs on dedicated hardware so it is made to handle big late game factories and crazy contraptions. It is meant for players who like to grind through quests and set up big systems instead of just rushing and leaving.
There is no whitelist and no application. You just join and start digging right away. You can play solo if you want or you can team up with other players and build together.
The staff keep bans on items to a minimum so people can actually play the pack how it was designed. They also say they plan to stay online for the long term so progress should be safe.
The community hangs out on Discord where people show off builds trade resources and help each other with quests and modded problems.
