This server is a towny survival SMP that is made for people who want to stay for a long time and build a community. It is not just quick minigames. It is more like a world where you settle down and actually live there.
The main thing is towny land claiming so you and your friends can start your own town and protect your builds. You can build alone or you can team up and make alliances with other towns. It feels like a little world with different groups.
The server has a player driven economy. Players do the trading and set up their own shops and there are custom events and custom shops too. So money and trading really matter and it is not just random.
The community is described as friendly and active so it is not just an empty server. You can join to talk hang out build towns or just play solo in survival and still feel like part of the world.

This is an adult based survival server called Campbell SMP that is now in season 2. It feels like a long term world where people actually stick around and play together. You do not have to grind all day to stay here so it is nice if you just want to relax after school or work.
The server is semi vanilla but it has a bunch of server side upgrades. The world generation uses different plugins so the terrain looks really cool. There are changes to the nether and end and even the desert jungle temples and ocean monuments feel upgraded. The wither and ender dragon are tougher so bosses are not a joke.
There is a progression based armor and tool system. You cannot just jump into iron and diamond gear right away. You need to level skills first and then you unlock better materials. The owners explain the system more in their discord.
The community runs a lot of regular events and players vote on how things should be done. It is a player run style server instead of one person controlling everything. There is proximity voice chat so people can actually talk when they are close to each other in game.
They are still working on spawn and the nether hub and the dragon has not even been killed yet. It feels like a fresh season with everyone starting out together and building up the world from the beginning.
This server is called MineRealm and it has been online since 2010 which is actually pretty crazy. It is a classic style SMP survival server that feels really close to vanilla. The world is smaller and slowly expands so new land always generates in the latest Minecraft version. It feels like a long term world where people actually stay and build for a long time.
Everything is survival and there is no pay to win and no item spawning. The staff keeps it 100 percent legit so if you see a big build you know someone actually worked for it. They use a plot system and their own grief protection plus CoreProtect so your builds are safe and you do not need to worry about random people destroying stuff.
The community is small and welcoming and the whole world is player built. There is no giant flashy hub that feels fake. Instead it looks like a survival world that has grown over years. They also have some custom plugins that add unique features and help with community stuff but it still feels like normal Minecraft.
There are no world resets so when you build something it is meant to stay. That makes it feel like your base really matters and the server is focused on long term survival and history instead of quick seasons.
This server is called 1fighter2defenders or 1f2d and it is a wild survival world with no rules at all. There are no map resets so everything people do stays on the map. The server has been running since 2021 so it is over four years old and has had thousands of players join at least once.
Here you can grief build or cheat because everything goes. There are no limits and no protection so you have to be careful and smart. The whole place feels like pure chaos and that is kind of the point.
The main version is 1.21 and it also supports versions from 1.17 up to 1.21.11. If you like long term survival and you do not want rules this server is made for that.
This server is running a special Valentines build battle and it looks pretty intense. The whole theme is about hearts and love but with a twist. You can build a super cute love monument or go full anti Valentines and make something dark and broken.
There are big rewards for the top three builders. First place gets a special event tag a builder wand some rare keys a lot of money and a boost they can choose. Second and third place also get event tags keys money and useful items like wands vaults and spawners.
Everyone who joins the event gets an event tag so you do not walk away with nothing. Winners just get a cooler glowing version. It feels like the server really wants people to be creative and go all out for this one event.
The server is on version 1.21.8 so it is pretty up to date. From what I can see the vibe is competitive but still fun and they really hype up the idea of fighting for the builders crown.
