This server is called Summit Survival and it feels like old school Minecraft but harder. It started back in 2020 when the owner and some friends wanted a simple place to play without a ton of confusing plugins or claim systems. The server uses hard difficulty and it runs on 1.21.X so it is pretty up to date.
There are no land claims here so you just play survival like normal and trust the community and the rules. The staff team is small and mostly hands off so players can just do their thing as long as they follow the big rules. There is a strict zero tolerance policy for griefing hacking and hate speech so people who join and actually play are usually chill.
The economy is based on items instead of weird menus so trading feels natural. There are some quality of life features that make the server smoother without changing the main survival experience. The hardware is good so the world runs well and there is an active Discord community around the server that keeps it alive even after the original friend group got smaller.
If you want a simple hard survival server with a small friendly community and rules that protect builds without using claim blocks this place fits that style. You just join play survival and hang out with people who like Minecraft the regular way.

From what I saw the community is really friendly and supportive. People like to vibe build and explore together. It feels like a spot where you can relax and have fun without drama.

AvalonEarth is a Minecraft server that runs on a 1 to 500 scale earth map so there is a lot of space to claim land and make your own nation. It is a geopolitics style earth smp server that uses the Towny plugin so players can build towns and nations and manage their land.
Everyone gets starter money on the server and you can use that to create a nation right away. You do not have to grind for hours first and there are no big player requirements just to start your own country. It feels like you can jump into the main gameplay pretty fast.
The server is in its second season. The first season started in September and built up a strong community. The new season already has many new players and the world feels active.
There is a lot of conflict and wars between nations for players who like pvp and politics. But if you do not enjoy fighting you can still live a more peaceful life and try to avoid wars and just build and chill with others.
Money is mostly earned with jobs farming and fishing and the owner says they are adding more ways to make money soon. Overall the server is about nations wars and community on an earth map with Towny and an easier start than most other earth smp servers.

EchelonMC is a custom survival world that is built from the ground up. It is not one of those copy paste servers. The owners use their own code and change stuff based on what players say.
The server is a custom SMP where you survive and build. There is a special path system where walking makes paths under your feet and you get speed when you use them and you can turn it off if you want. There is a currency called Echelites that you earn just by playing and you can spend it on progression and useful things.
Land claiming is more advanced here. You can see visual borders and change settings per chunk. There are tools that help stop griefing and control mobs TNT fire spread raids and even fluids. You can also make public chunks so other people can visit your builds. When people visit you can earn from it and try to climb rankings.
You can make teams invite friends and show off team nametags. Teams also get their own utilities. If you die there are graves that hold your items for a while and there is a back command to help you get to places after teleports.
The server has voting rewards a spawn hub with custom NPCs and useful stuff. There is also a discord link system and a chat bridge plus anti x ray protection. The server is non pay to win and it gets frequent patches and updates and it is clearly made to grow with the community.

United SMP is a semi anarchy server where everyone is trying to live their unstable smp dreams. You can team up with friends and just go fight and try to take over the world. It feels like chaos but in a fun way and there is a lot of pvp.
New players can use a kit for beginner gear so you are not totally weak when you join. There are massive builds placed around the map and they have really good loot and gear inside so exploring is actually worth it.
The server has proximity voice chat so you can talk to people that are close to you in game. There are temporary death bans so dying actually matters and makes fights more intense.
There are events planned around those big builds and the whole server feels like it is made for battles and crazy moments. It works on both Java and Bedrock and the listed version is 1.21.10 so a lot of players can join.
