This server is called Overtake Network and it is made for people who miss the old factions style from around 2014 to 2016. It is not about crazy modern stuff or pay to win menus. It is about raiding other bases doing real PvP and grinding your gear the normal way.
The combat is set up like native 1.8 so there are no hit cooldowns. You can spam click and block hit and use rods just like old school PvP. They really care about hit registration so fights feel smooth. You can join with newer versions like 1.12 but the combat still behaves like 1.8.
The main game mode is classic factions where you claim land build cannons and raid enemies. There is McMMO so you can level skills and get small advantages by grinding. The economy is balanced and built around farms mob grinders and a player auction house so players trade with each other.
There are vote rewards that actually give useful keys and items so voting feels worth it. They also say they have a strict anti cheat and they actively ban cheaters so fights are more fair.
The community is international with strong roots in EU and Bulgaria but the server uses English first and welcomes everyone. The map is brand new right now so you can start early and try to become one of the top factions before really huge groups join.

This is a chill Minecraft event I found where a friend is doing a giveaway.
You can win Minecraft Java Edition or Bedrock Edition. It is all done in a relaxed way so it does not feel super serious.
The event is hosted on a live stream and up to 40 people can join. You just hang out and take part if you want. It feels more like a fun community thing and not like some weird ad.
The whole vibe is very laid back. If you want a chance at the game and a calm event to join this is pretty cool.

This is a small story style SMP with PvP where the owner is making their first YouTube video.
The server runs on a set schedule because the owner is in college. On weekdays it opens for around three hours after 6pm GMT. On Friday Saturday and Sunday it opens for around three to five hours starting at 2pm GMT.
The event has a clear start date and players need to join the discord before it starts to get in. Everyone will be talking in game using the Simple Voice Chat mod version 1.21.11 so players have to download it first before joining.
If the server becomes dead or inactive the event might end early. So the whole idea is to get enough active players who want to be part of a short Minecraft story with PvP and voice chat for a YouTube video.

This server is called EarthStonks and it is all about a big geopolitical money game on an earth map. You do not just build a house. You build a whole industry and a nation and try to control the global market.
There is a full bond market where nations can borrow money from other players. You can issue war bonds to raise cash and if you cannot pay it back the bank will take your land and unclaim your chunks. Other players can even buy your debt and try to push you into bankruptcy.
Mining is different here. Normal ore generation is turned off so x ray is useless. Instead resources match real world zones on the map. You look at the map to find places that have oil or gold or iron and then mine regular blocks there to get those special resources.
War is high stakes and connected to money. When you conquer a town half of their oil iron and gold stockpile gets moved to your capital. You start a siege by placing a banner and if the enemy town cannot defend it for three days the town becomes yours.
Right now the server is in open beta. The economy is fresh and the map is still open so new players can grab land and try to become the first big tycoon. It runs on version 1.21 plus and feels like a serious strategy world inside Minecraft.

SlashMC is an Earth SMP for Minecraft 1.21 and up and it is made for players who like long term survival and steady progression. The world uses a full scale Earth map so exploring actually feels like traveling around the globe.
The server is Java and Bedrock compatible so more friends can play together. There are separate resource worlds to gather materials so the main Earth map can stay cleaner and look nicer over time. A lands claiming system lets you protect and manage your territory so your builds and bases stay safe.
The owner has worked on other Minecraft servers for a long time and this is their first fully independent project. They want a close and interactive community where players can share feedback and feel heard. The launch is planned and they are opening things early so people can learn how the server works and help give ideas before everything goes live.
