MCRespawn is a survival server that is trying really hard to be stable and smooth. It is built around survival gameplay and they care a lot about performance so things do not lag out all the time.
The server has a custom economy that uses mob head drops so killing mobs actually feels extra rewarding. There is also a live web map so you can look around the world and show off your builds to other people.
The uptime is around 99.5 percent so it is online a lot and feels dependable. The community is described as friendly and welcoming for players of all ages so it is not just super sweaty tryhards.
Right now the server is brand new and in early beta. The owner Conner is online a lot and if you join and say hi you can get a beta tester item as a thank you for helping the server early.

This is a Minecraft server where humans fight zombies and both sides are real players. Humans try to survive until the time runs out. Zombies try to infect all the humans.
Humans can hide in stash spots and place sandbags and lasermines to block zombies. They can also run around the arenas and use things like pet bats and jetpacks if they want to play more risky.
Zombies can pick from many different zombie classes. Each class has its own job. Some zombies are made to rush stash spots and some can leap around and chase humans in different ways.
The server has a custom grind system with bot zombies. These bot zombies move around smart and jump so you can farm them. They drop bundles and powerups. Every month the top mob killers get prizes like VIP and other good rewards.
There are weekly events like gaming nights and double rewards. There are also monthly events with leaderboards and top killer stuff so players always have something to work for.
When you join you have to register with a strong password using the register command. Then you open your book and click Join. If you spawn in the zombie selector room you walk into a portal to pick your zombie. If you are human your first step is to run.

Ordinary SMP is a vanilla Java survival server that feels like a small friendly town. It is whitelisted so people who join actually want to play and respect others. The community is pretty tight knit and players like to build together and hang out.
The server is always updated to the newest version so you get the latest features. There is grief protection with tools to check what happened so your builds and items can be kept safe if someone tries to mess with them.
This server uses BlueMap so you can view the world on a live map. There is Simple VoiceChat so you can talk in game instead of just typing. They also use AudioPlayer for custom audio which makes events feel more special.

SnowFallSMP is a small semi vanilla server where people just want to play Minecraft and make new friends. When I joined it felt calm and kind of cozy because everyone is into different play styles but they still hang out together.
There are builders collectors tech lovers experimenters and explorers so the world has a mix of cool bases and weird projects. The rules are pretty simple. You have to respect other player builds and community areas. No hacking griefing vandalism or stealing. No discrimination bullying or harassment. No pvp unless both players agree first and no advertising.
It is a 16 plus server so people act more mature. There is a short application with a few easy questions like your IGN and if you agree to the rules. After you fill that out you can join and start playing. Sometimes they also run events when they can so there is always something to watch for.

This is a European lifesteal anarchy style server where you fight other players and try to survive. It feels pretty hardcore because when you kill players you get extra hearts and when you die you lose hearts. If you lose all your hearts you get banned so every fight actually matters.
They use a bunch of custom plugins to make the game more intense. You can set a home and teleport back to it and you can send teleport requests to other players if you want to team or trap. New players get a one hour grace period so they do not lose hearts right away which helps you get started.
Combat is strict here. If you try to log out during fights you get punished because a npc of you stays and can be killed for your stuff. You also cannot spam commands in combat. There is some protection against crazy movement cheats and chat spam so it does not feel totally broken.
There is an in game store where you spend vote tokens on name colors and custom motds. The server tracks your playtime kills and deaths and gives rewards when you reach milestones. Players can also vote to skip the night with a simple command so you do not always have to sit in the dark.
Overall it is a rough lifesteal survival server that mixes anarchy vibes with some quality of life commands and a few basic protections so the chaos is still kind of fair.
