Gods and Gold is a Minecraft server that is all about politics culture and fantasy while still letting you enjoy the usual chaotic fun of the game. It tries to be a long term world where stories and lore grow over time between different players and groups.
Here you can make your own history and your own nation. You can team up with friends or become rivals. If you do not like writing or planning a lot you can just join one of the staff made factions. Those factions already have their own culture and NPCs so you can jump in fast and still climb the political ladder.
The server uses a national and political system instead of simple land claims. You get land through titles and you can earn those by economy military politics or civic work. There are rules for succession abdication elections and even usurping so power can shift in many ways as long as people remember it is just a game.
There is a player run economy where money is renewable. The players control it and there are lots of money sinks like land upkeep tithes war costs buffs and cosmetics. So the economy can boom or crash but it is still meant to be fun.
The server wants balanced warfare and it understands that not everyone can grind all the time. The whole idea is to let people enjoy politics conflict and story without needing to no life the game.

This is a modded Java server called Ash and Ale and it runs on version 1.20.1. They use their own custom modpack just for this server.
The whole thing is themed around medieval and magical stuff. It feels like a fantasy world with castles and spells and the players are the ones who shape the history.
The modpack is shared in their community so you join up and then jump into this world full of ash and ale and stories that players make together.

Chilltown is a survival SMP that feels really calm and relaxed. It has a long running world that started in 2019 and everything has grown slowly with player towns farms and projects. It feels close to vanilla so it is simple to understand but it does not have the crazy chaos that a lot of other SMPs have.
The server is for people who like to play survival at their own speed. Most of the community is more mature and respectful so chat is not full of drama. It is also a good place if you are tired of pay to win stuff or servers that reset all the time.
The world is not just random terrain. It uses a custom world that looks really good and it even has seasons that change how everything looks. There are custom mobs weapons tools and enchants but they are made to be balanced instead of super overpowered.
Land claiming is easy and uses chunks so you can protect your builds without needing to learn a lot of commands. New players get a starter kit daily rewards and there is an optional tutorial to help you get started even if you want to play mostly solo.

Reforged SMP is a vanilla style server that was made by someone who always wanted their own world since they were a kid. Now they finally learned some coding and used it to build a server with a lot of care and planning.
