LegacyMC is a vanilla anarchy server that feels really raw and simple. There are no rules and no gameplay changing plugins so whatever happens is because of the players. You spawn in and just have to survive with nothing holding you back.
The world started in June 2025 so it is still pretty fresh and there are a lot of chances to leave your mark. There are no land claims and no teleport commands and no admin interference. If you build something or destroy something or conquer something it is all up to you and it all stays there.
PvP is always on and griefing and raiding are allowed so you have to be careful who you trust. You can go far away from spawn and build in secret or stay in the chaos near spawn and fight everyone. The world does not reset so everything you do sticks around.
The server runs on dedicated hardware in Australia so players in Australia and New Zealand can get good ping. There is no monetisation at all and no pay to win and no donation ranks. The whole idea is to have a classic survival feeling for people who want freedom and permanence without admins controlling everything.

This is a Minecraft setup where you can practice PvP without being scared of losing your stuff. It uses a fabric mod that lets you focus on learning combat instead of worrying about gear.
You can practice different game modes like sword fights SMP style PvP and crystal PvP. It is made for players who want to get better and try a bunch of PvP styles in one place.
The mod is based on Carpet PvP but it has new features and support for Minecraft 1.21.11. To use it you need a PvP practice map like the one made for Carpet PvP.
It feels like a place where you just grind PvP and improve your skills with nothing to lose.

Dead Horizon is a semi anarchy SMP where survival and conflict are the main thing. It feels really intense because the world is limited to 10000 by 10000 so you run into other players a lot and you cannot just hide forever.
The server runs Java and Bedrock cross play and supports versions from 1.9 up to 1.21.11 with native 1.21.8. It is public and anyone can join. There are no totems and no hacking so fights feel fair but still brutal.
You can play solo or make a team and pvp and raiding are allowed. Only five maces exist each season so rare gear actually matters. There is proximity voice chat so you can talk to people you meet which makes encounters way more scary and fun.
Every season has a new gameplay twist. Season 3 is a full fresh world and new dynamics but old players and their reputations still matter. If you want high stakes survival without tons of weird rules this server is made for that.

Purgatory SMP is a hardcore style survival server where dying actually matters. It has a special revival plugin so players can bring each other back using player heads or totems. That means you really want to stick with your friends and protect each other.
The owners want about 150 or more people in the community before the season starts so everyone can hop in around the same time and no one is super far ahead. It feels like they are trying to make a big first day rush where the world is fresh for everyone.
The server is made for Java players and they are also trying to let Bedrock players join by using stuff like Geyser. So it is mainly Java but they are working to make it possible for Bedrock people too.
Overall it looks like a sweaty hardcore server where death is scary but not totally the end if your friends can clutch a revival.

I found this server called Malgazar and it feels like a small vanilla world where people actually care about each other
It is mostly vanilla with only a few quality of life plugins so the game still feels like normal Minecraft
The community is tight knit and the players are nice and active and they seem to really enjoy playing together
The staff says the server is heavily moderated so griefing almost never happens which makes it feel safe to build stuff
They recently expanded the Overworld Nether and End borders from about 4.5k to 11k so there is a lot more space to explore and start fresh bases
They also decided to unban some small time offenders and put them on a watch list so they get a second chance but if they mess up again they get banned for good
Overall it looks like a solid server with a good community and they are mainly looking for positive and kind players to join
