Beauty in Blocks is a small modded SMP that feels like a big adventure. The world looks really cool because it uses special terrain mods and it makes the world feel fresh and different.
There are new biomes and new realms above and below so exploring actually feels worth it. The seasons change and leaves fall so the world feels more alive. The nether has extra structures and ruins so it is way less boring and more dangerous.
The server gives you a guide book when you first join. It explains the important changes the mods add and even has links to more info. This helps a lot if you are not used to modded servers.
There is a land claim system that uses Flan. You start with a decent amount of claim blocks and you earn more just by playing. Claims go down under the ground so you do not hit weird invisible walls while mining.
The server has proximity voice chat so you can actually hear people when you are close to them. This makes random meetings feel more real. But mobs and skulk can hear you too so you need to be careful when you talk.
The modpack is set up so it is easy to join and the server info is already in it. The community is small creative and likes building and exploring together. It seems like a place for people who want a long lasting world not just a quick reset server.

This server is called Stellar Warfare and it is all about modern war in Minecraft. It is modded and feels like a big battlefield with guns tanks and planes.
The server is focused on teams and territory control. Players fight over land and important spots. Wars happen because people want resources or they just hate each other. It is not forced events it is all player driven.
The world is meant to last for a long time. Exploration actually matters. Building bases and making roads or other infrastructure is important because it sticks around and helps in big wars.
The server does not feel pay to win and it does not wipe all the time. So if you want long term progression and modern combat this server is a good pick.

TendoMC is a modded Minecraft server that is all about a Naruto style world. It runs on Java with Forge 1.12.2 and focuses a lot on quests boss fights and lore events.
The server uses CustomNPCs to make real quest lines and custom bosses. NPCs can use abilities and jutsu style attacks and more story content is still being added. There are planned lore events where players can try to become a Jinchuriki and unlock special powers.
There are five nations you can join. Leaf Sand Stone Cloud and Mist. Each nation has its own NPC that sells unique clothing and some extra items so you can look and feel like part of your village.
You can work toward ranks like Akatsuki member or Hokage. The server will hold ninja exams pretty often depending on how the players are progressing so your rank actually comes from how you play.
The owner says the server is not pay to win. Everything that you can get with real money can also be earned in game through bosses and questlines. There are crates but they are mostly to help people who cannot play all day still keep up with others.
The person running the server has a lot of experience running other game communities and wants to bring a new style of gameplay to this modded Naruto world.

This is a vanilla beta 1.7.3 server called BetaBuddies and it feels like going back in time.
The server is trying to grow a small but active community that actually talks and plays together. People here seem pretty chill and just want to hang out and have fun.
There are some clear rules. No hate speech or hateful symbols. No griefing stealing or cheating. They do not want memes with gore or racist or sexist stuff. Bullying is not allowed at all so you are supposed to be kind to everyone.

This is a chill vanilla plus style server that uses the Origins mod so players can pick custom abilities and weaknesses. It feels like a small friend group that slowly grew into an established community and they try to keep that vibe.
The seasons are meant to last a long time so you actually get to finish big projects and not have everything wiped right away. There are events and polls so people can help decide what happens next on the server.
The server uses in game voice chat and some paint style mods so you can talk and be creative right inside Minecraft. There is also a system called Soul Trade where people can trade hearts but it is only done when both players agree.
