Garconia is a Minecraft server that is trying to be a real working democracy inside the game. The whole idea is that players shape the country and not the staff. You can run for office write laws and help decide how the server works.
You can also live a normal life and just play survival. You can build a small home in the countryside or huge skyscrapers in the city. There are advanced plugins that let you start a business hire other players and manage company money. You can open real shops and try to become a rich entrepreneur.
If you like politics you can join the political system. You can create parties team up with people who share your beliefs and try to pass new laws. Staff members are not allowed to control or influence politics so players really decide what happens in the country.
The community is still new so early players get a big chance to shape everything. You can become one of the first leaders or founders and your choices will be remembered by future players. Berry Civs is a civilization style roleplay SMP where the world is meant to last a long time. Players build towns trade with each other and make alliances or rivals. The server wants the history to come from what players actually do instead of scripted events.
The world has changed vanilla structures and new custom ones like ruins and fortified places. There are custom biomes and regions so exploring feels fresh and slow instead of just rushing to the end. PvP is allowed but it is supposed to be more structured and not just random griefing.
The monetisation is not pay to win. The store is being made to focus on cosmetics pets and vanity titles so it is only visual stuff. Supporter tiers are earned over time instead of just buying power.

Railcraft is a Minecraft server that feels like a real social experiment.
You do not just join and wander around. To get in you pick an ideology like socialism communism capitalism neoliberalism centrism or anarchism. Then you live that choice in game with your group.
There are no claim plugins and no magic shop system and no admins fixing what happens. Groups have to organize or fail. They mine build trade and fight under real limits.
Travel is mostly by rail so players actually build rail lines. There are no elytras no ender chests and no automatic farms. There is proximity voice chat so talking with people near you really matters.
The server does not open right away. It starts only when there are enough players accepted in every ideology so things feel balanced at the beginning.
There is no central state and no promise that things will be fair. Some groups might grow strong and some might split or collapse.
