Chilltown is a survival SMP that feels really relaxed but still has some challenge. The people on here seem friendly and it is meant to be an inclusive community where you can just hang out and play.
The server is all about adventuring and building. There are custom structures and custom biomes so the world looks different and has more cool places to explore and loot. They also do seasons. Every 90 days the terrain changes so the world feels more alive instead of the same old map forever.
It is not super easy though. The server tries to be unique and challenging without being too punishing. There are custom mobs and custom enchants so combat and gear are more interesting than normal vanilla.
You can claim land using a chunk based claiming system so you do not need a golden shovel. There is a community chest and a community discord server so it feels like people are meant to help each other and play together instead of griefing.
There is a daily rewards system to keep you logging in and the owner says there is a heavy focus on not being pay to win. So you can just play and earn stuff instead of needing to buy power.
If you want a chill place to play survival with seasons adventure and building this server seems like a good pick.

DeadMans Land is a classic factions server where you try to survive while other players are trying to take you out. It feels really intense because everything is about power and who can stay on top.
You can make a faction with your friends and build an empire. You can also raid other bases and fight for land. The whole server is built around factions and pvp so it is not peaceful at all.
There are custom events that keep the server interesting and the pvp is made to feel balanced. It is basically kill or be killed so you have to be ready to fight and protect your stuff.
If you like survival with a lot of battles and rivalries this server fits that style. It is all about being strong forming alliances or being ruthless and taking down everyone else.

This is a new SMP server that is being built by an 18 plus community. The owner wants a small group of active players who like Minecraft a lot and sometimes play other games together too.
The server is not set up yet because everyone who joins helps decide how it will work. People will vote on mods and modpacks and rules and new features. It is meant to be a real community run server where every player gets a voice.
The main focus is making friends and playing survival together and doing special events like Chained Mod and Shared Inventory and other ideas the group comes up with. PvP is only if everyone agrees so it is not a hardcore pvp or griefing place.
If you want to help build a server from the ground up and like chill people this server is trying to be that kind of home.

EchelonMC is a fully custom SMP that tries to feel different from all the usual copy paste survival servers. The owner uses custom coded features and listens to player feedback so the server keeps getting updated and changed.
The server has auto pathing that lets you create paths just by walking and you get a speed bonus when you use them. You can turn this on or off. There is a currency called Echelites that you earn just by playing and you can spend it on progression and utilities.
Land claiming is more advanced than normal. You can see visual borders and set things per chunk like anti grief options mob settings TNT fire spread raids and fluid protection. There are public chunks where people can publish their builds for others to visit and they can earn from visitors and climb rankings.
You can also make teams invite your friends show off team nametags and use team utilities. When you die a grave spawns with your items for a limited time and you can use back to help recover after teleports.
The server has voting with rewards and a spawn hub with custom NPCs and useful stuff. Discord chat is linked in game and there are anti X ray protections. Everything is made to be non pay to win and built to evolve with the community.

This is a small Minecraft SMP that is looking for more players.
Right now there are only a few people active so new players can join and actually matter. It feels calm and not crowded. You can join and just play survival and meet new people.
The server is simple and about survival with others. If you want a place that is not full of randoms and you like a smaller world this one is pretty good.
I think it is nice for people who just want to chill and play with a small group and see the server grow.
