AvalonEarth is an earth SMP server with a 1 to 500 scale world so there is tons of land to claim and lots of space for nations. It uses Towny so players can make towns and nations and shape the world with borders and politics.
Anyone can start a nation because the server gives you starter money. You do not have to grind first or meet some weird player requirement before you can make your own country. This makes the server feel pretty fair right from the start.
The server has had a first season that did well and the community from it is still around. Now it is on the second season and a lot of new players have joined so it feels alive and active.

I found this server called Eden and it is like a giant social experiment in Minecraft. The whole idea is to see if players can make a working society without any admin stepping in to fix stuff.
The world has real scarcity. There are no admin shops that bail you out. Resources can actually run out and even crops are locked to certain biomes. So if you want a big factory or base you need a real supply chain that goes across the map.

Campfire SMP is an 18 plus semi vanilla survival server that is made to last a long time. The world started on 09 13 2025 and the plan is to keep it going for years without random resets. It is a small whitelisted community so everyone can actually get to know each other.
The server is focused on classic survival with an authentic feel. There is no tpa and no home command so you walk or use nether highways to get around. There is a diamond based shopping district where players trade and sell stuff and there are community areas like a battle arena and a mini games district.
Most players are adults in their 20s with some in their 30s and 40s. People hang out in voice chat a lot and work on projects together or just talk and play other games. It feels more like a chill friend group than a giant random server.
