This server is called Rainbow Unity SMP and it feels like a chill place where you can slowly build up your own world and get stronger over time.
You claim your own land so you can protect your builds and make your own little empire. There is a rankup system where you level up and unlock cool perks so it feels like you are always progressing.
There are crates that give powerful and rare gear which is awesome if you like opening stuff and seeing what you get. You can also grab daily rewards so logging in every day actually feels worth it.
The server has quests and custom items plus land claim and more things to discover so there is always something to do instead of just mining forever.

The Collective is a free to play community server that runs different modpacks and worlds. When you finish certain tasks based on the current modpack you actually get to help pick what comes next. Players help choose the next direction modpack or world so the server keeps changing in cool ways.
There is a story about a god called The Collector who wants to make things harder. He uses disciples to mess with players. You can join Echo Fall to fight against him or join The Collector to get closer to this mysterious being or just try to go your own way.
Right now the server is starting with a fresh Cobblemon world so it is a good time to join. The Collective started as a small friend group and they have been playing together for about a year. Their old worlds have scars and builds that show their stories and they seem ready to welcome new people.
They also talk about an Artifact System where special items can be carried between worlds. If you want to know more about that you have to join and check it out. The server feels like a chill place where players help shape what happens next.

This is a hardcore SMP where dying actually matters. If you die you get banned for 24 hours so every fight and every cave trip feels scary and intense.
The server is basically vanilla and it feels really simple and clean. There is barely any pay to win so normal players can just play and still keep up.
The world is unscripted so players just do their own thing and it leads to funny moments and random stories. It is Java only and you play on version 1.20 or higher with a base version of 1.21.11. There is voice chat too so people can talk while they play and that makes it feel more like a real SMP.
If you like hardcore survival and you want a serious challenge but still want a chill SMP style server this one looks really fun.

Outcrafted SMP is starting season 3 and it is a semi vanilla world that aims for around 50 to 100 active players.
The server keeps the normal survival feel but adds a few extra things. There is Simple Voice Chat so people can talk while they play. There are also Dungeons and Taverns that add custom structures so exploring the world feels new. There are some custom maces too so combat has a little twist this season.
You do not need to fill out any application to join. You just need to follow the rules and you will be fine. The community is meant for players who are 16 or older.

CaveMC is a semi anarchy survival server where the entire overworld is underground. There is no surface at all. It is all caves with custom generation made by real Minecraft developers.
The world is full of underground biomes resources and structures. Survival here is really brutal and only smart players will last long. You get that anarchy feeling but it is still enhanced vanilla so it feels like Minecraft just way more intense.
Season 2 brings a fresh start for everyone. There is also a new huge thing called the Wasteland Dimension. It is not just a normal biome. It is a whole extra dimension you can go to and explore.
In the Wasteland you can fight for brand new powerful gear. There are giant mega structures with secrets and good loot hidden inside. The Wasteland also has its own special currency so players can build a new economy and trade in their own way.
There is a new spawn area that sets up the whole Wasteland theme. The map in this dimension is custom generated and looks really cool and also tricky to move around. It has special features that make exploring and survival feel different from other servers.
From what I can tell this server is for players who like tough underground survival semi anarchy style worlds and who want to explore a unique custom dimension and fight over gear and resources.
