WhimsyWillow is a small community SMP that is now in season 3 and this time it is modded. The mods were picked by the community so everyone had a say in what got added.
The world has over 100 biomes with different terrain and tons of structures so exploring feels really cool. There is also a map you can check so you can see the whole world and plan where you want to go.
The server has the Create mod so people can build machines and contraptions as long as they are reasonable. There are extra ores with new tools and weapons so progression feels more fun and not the same old grind.
Spawn is kept pretty and organized and there is a shop district where players can make their own shops and sell whatever they want. The server is always asking for suggestions to keep everything fair balanced and enjoyable for everyone.
There are events every now and then to keep the server alive and interesting and they are running one right now. The server is whitelist only but the application is short and they are always looking for new people who want to hang out and have fun. Everyone is welcome in the community.

This server is called Ordinary SMP but it actually feels pretty special. It is a vanilla Java survival world that is always updated and right now it is on version 1.21.11. The server is whitelisted so the players are picked to keep things calm and respectful.
The community feels really tight knit and friendly. People like to build together and work on big community projects. There are server wide events like pvp fights build contests and huge group builds so there is usually something going on if you do not want to play alone.
Even though it is survival there is good protection for your stuff. They use tools to check griefing or stealing so your base and items stay safe. That makes it easier to build cool things without worrying about random destruction.
The server also has some extra features that still keep the vanilla feeling. There is a BlueMap so you can see the world from a map in real time. There is Simple VoiceChat so you can talk in game and an audio system for custom sounds. The dragon drops elytra so you can get wings from the end boss. There is also a custom resource pack with special cosmetics trophies and event rewards that match a HermitCraft type theme.
Overall it feels like a chill place for builders explorers redstone players or anyone who just wants to hang out and vibe on a long term survival world with other people.

PurpleSMP is a small chill survival server that feels like a safe place to just build and hang out. It is focused on PvE so you do not have to worry about random people ruining your day.
The server has mcMMO so you can level skills and get fun perks like better tree chopping. There are easy land claims with GriefPrevention so your builds are protected. Every block placed or broken is logged so staff can see what happened if something goes wrong.
PvP is off by default but you can turn it on for yourself with a simple command if you actually want to fight. There are personal vaults so you can store extra items when your inventory fills up. You can even look at the world in a web map that works kind of like Google Maps.
Staff take cheating and griefing seriously. There is a strong anti cheat that alerts staff in Discord and can take action until someone checks it. Your joins leaves and deaths are backed up so staff can restore your stuff if you lose items because someone broke the rules.
The world started as a friends only server and then opened to the public later. The owner calls it a forever world and says they do not plan to ever reset it. It is a good server if you just want a relaxing place to play the latest Minecraft and not deal with rude people.

This is a small 17 plus SMP that feels really chill and calm. It is mostly vanilla survival with a few plugins that just make life easier and do not change the game in a crazy way.
The server is all about building farming going on adventures and making friends. People seem to care about actually making a nice world instead of rushing everything.
It works on both Java and Bedrock so more players can join together. There is no griefing no pvp and no hacking or cheating so it feels safe to build your base and just relax.
Around spawn there are shops that help you get the basic stuff you need so starting out is not super hard. The community is friendly and new members are welcome.
There are member and helper applications and they plan to keep the member cap pretty small so it stays like a close community.

Kindred Vale is a survival server that feels really calm and safe. It is made for Java players who want no grief and like to build and explore without stress. The community focuses on respect and teamwork so new players and veterans can both fit in.
The server has skills you can level like mining and defense. When your skills go up the mobs get tougher too so it stays interesting. There is also a simple disenchant system where you use an anvil and books to strip enchants from gear.
The owners like to run boosts that give big xp and skill bonuses and even potion effects for everyone online. There are monthly events plus weekly key hunts so there is usually something going on. You can also make your own player shop and set a warp so people can visit and trade with you easily.
The world resets every three months so each season feels fresh. Season 2 started on January 1 2026. EclipsiaSMP is a modded Minecraft server that runs on version 1.20.1. The server is all about magic and dungeons and fighting modded bosses.
The world is built for exploring and upgrading your gear. The modpack is new and feels really focused so you are pushed to go on adventures instead of just sitting in one place.
The community is small but growing and it feels really chill. It is also LGBTQ+ friendly so a lot of different people can feel safe playing here.
This is Season 2 of the server. Some players survived Season 1 and are coming back and new players can join in too when the red moon rises.
From what I can tell people have already had a chaotic and funny time on Season 1 and they seem excited to start this new universe.
