Waystone is a calm survival SMP where people like to take it slow and build a world that grows over time.
The server has a really chill and friendly atmosphere. Chat is respectful and there is no shouting or constant noise. You can just play at your own pace without pressure.
The world is focused on towns and shared spaces. Players make towns roads and little community areas that feel like real places. Things are meant to be lived in and slowly improved instead of rushed and abandoned.
The map does not reset by seasons. Builds paths and history stay. The world feels like it has memory and it grows older together with the players.
There is no economy and no pay to win stuff. Progress feels natural from playing and helping out instead of grinding super hard or trying to compete.
The community is small and intentional with a whitelist. It is there to protect the world and keep it nice not to be mean or exclusive. You see familiar names and places and it feels more close.

This is a server called 99b99t and it is full anarchy. There are no rules and no limits so everyone can do whatever they want. It is all about chaos and trying to survive when nobody is there to protect you.
The server runs on Java and you can join from version 1.12.2 up to 1.21.11. The difficulty is set to hard so mobs hit really hard and you have to watch your health all the time.
It is online 24 7 so you can log in any time and see what other players have done. The world is brand new so people are just starting to build bases and destroy them and leave their mark. If you like true anarchy and you do not want rules this server is exactly that.

I found this server called JetSMP and it is a small whitelist survival server on Java.
It runs on dedicated hardware so it is self hosted and feels stable. The owner keeps it online a lot and actually maintains it which is pretty nice.
The server uses mods and Simple Voice Chat so people can talk while they play. It feels like they want a relaxed chill style of survival and not some super sweaty speedrun thing.
To join you have to ask for whitelist access first. New players are welcome and the whole vibe is to just chillax and hang out while you play Minecraft.

This is a small semi vanilla server that I found. It runs on 1.12 but you can join on other versions too so it is easy to hop on.
The only plugin you will really notice is an economy plugin. So it still feels like normal Minecraft survival but with money and trading. There is not a ton of extra stuff or crazy mods.
Most of the time there are around 5 to 10 players online every day. It feels like a smaller chill community where people can actually recognize each other.

The Doghouse SMP is a new Minecraft server that just started a fresh world. It runs on version 1.21 and feels like classic survival with a simple style.
From what I can see it is semi vanilla with a few helpful commands like tpa and spawn. These are there to make it easier to play with friends and get around the world faster.
The server has land claims so players can protect their builds. The main idea is you can do what you want as long as you do not ruin the fun for other people. It is meant to be friendly and not focused on griefing.
The community is looking for more nice players to join and build together. Both Java and Bedrock players can join so more people can play on the same world. It feels like a chill place to grind survive and hang out.

This is a small SMP that is made for adult players who like to take things slow. Most people here are in their 20s and 30s and they play at a relaxed pace and just hang out while they play.
The server runs Java 1.21.10 and it is also bedrock compatible so friends on different platforms can still play together. There are only a few optional quality of life plugins so it still feels like normal Minecraft.
The group is very welcoming and they say they are drama free. They like when new players join who are also chill and want to play for a long time. Their worlds usually last about a year before they reset so you have time to build up your base.
The End has not been opened or explored yet. The plan is to go there together for the first time and hang out in voice chat while doing it. The nether was opened about a week ago and they already explored it as a group. Now people are working on a more organized nether highway to connect bases and make travel easier.
If you want a calm SMP with adults and group trips to the nether and the end this server is like that.
