Vanillacraft is a semi vanilla survival server that tries to feel like normal Minecraft with friends. It does not have all the crazy plugins that change the game. There are no GUI shops and no economy plugin and no pay to win ranks.
The world is all about player choice. There is no land protection so you can build wherever you want. Griefing is not really a problem because there is Coreprotect and an active staff team watching over things. The community is very friendly and new players usually get help fast.
The server has a player run economy with real player shops. There is a community spawn with farms and helpful stuff. There is also a market district where players sell almost anything you need if you want a little head start.
There is no teleportation so you travel the old school way. People use the nether roof or an elytra to get around the world. There is no server store at all so progress comes from playing the game instead of paying money.
The server just started a new season after resetting the old world. That makes it a good time to join because everyone is closer to the same level. It is an active server where you usually see the same players online a lot so it feels like a real community.

This server is a huge 1 to 800 scale map of Europe set in the napoleonic age. You can join an existing nation or try to build your own empire and fight for dominance across the continent.
The claiming system is based on towny style towns so you protect land and grow cities while planning wars and alliances. There are many custom plugins that are made to make the geopolitics style gameplay feel really intense and fun.
The server just released a few days ago and it runs on 1.20.1. It also has breweryX so you can make stuff like wine and beer and add more flavor to roleplay. Both Bedrock and Java players can join.
The whole vibe feels like a big strategy game mixed with Minecraft so if you like nations and conquest this looks pretty cool.

The Lab is a vanilla style SMP that just started a new season and this time it is all about skyblock. It feels like a pretty pure Minecraft experience because everything is still vanilla but they use a skyblock setup so the whole world is basically the void.
From what I saw they use some tweaks so that every resource in the game is still possible to get. So even though you start in the sky you can still work toward getting all the normal stuff over time. The focus seems to be on building up from almost nothing and creating a whole world together.
The server is running on version 1.21.11 and it is hosted in Germany. There is no world border right now so the world can expand as people play and explore.

Billionaire City is a Minecraft city and economy roleplay server that is trying to change how people play. It feels like a big modern city world where money and progress actually matter.
You can manage different kinds of property like apartments houses and big companies. The way jobs work is different because they are not permanent and they are based on minigames and special job events so it does not feel boring or stuck.
There is a crime side too. You can do things like blow up ATMs or search trash bins for valuables and there is a balanced crime system with money laundering so it feels risky but not totally crazy.
The server also has vehicles and a public transport system so moving around the city is a big part of the gameplay. There is a ton of custom furniture everywhere that makes the city feel more real and detailed.

Foggy Willows is a server that is trying to be as real vanilla as possible. It runs on the normal minecraft server jar with no datapacks and no plugins at all. There is no giant spawn area and no big story you have to read before you play.
On this server players are expected to deal with their own problems. There is no tp or sethome so if you get lost you have to figure it out. You can build how you want and play how you want. Technical players who like redstone and farms are welcome too.
The server is always on the latest stable vanilla jar. It is self hosted on a machine made just for it. There are no donations and no world border. It is set to hard mode so mobs hit harder and the game is more tough.

WarriorSMP is a new survival server that is still in beta and it already feels pretty active with around 5 to 15 players on. It runs on version 1.21.4 and you can join on both Java and Bedrock so it is easy to play with friends.
The server is all about multiplayer survival with a simple economy. You can sell stuff and use a shop and there is a player auction house so most trading is between players. There is also a team system so you can group up with friends and play together.
For people who like pvp there is a bounty system so you can hunt players for rewards. You can use random teleport to explore the world safely and you can set homes and try to climb the leaderboards.
The community seems serious about staying safe and welcoming. They do not allow cheating duping x ray racism hate speech or nsfw stuff. Breaking those rules is an instant ban so the server is trying to keep things fair and friendly for everyone.
