This server is a semi vanilla SMP where the community and the economy are a big deal. It feels like a place where people actually build stuff and keep coming back.
It has land claiming so your builds stay safe and it is PvE focused with no griefing. It also does not use keep inventory so survival still matters.

Foggy Willows is a server for people who want real vanilla survival. It runs on the normal minecraft server jar with no datapacks and no plugins so it feels like the game is supposed to feel.
The spawn is not fancy and you do not have to read a bunch of stories before playing. People are expected to handle their own social problems and just play.
There is no tp and no sethome so travel matters a lot. The world has no border and the server stays on the latest stable vanilla version. It is hard mode and it is self hosted on a purpose built machine. There are no donations.

I found a small survival multiplayer world that is run like a community project. It is called Anything SMP and the whole point is that the server gets reset every so often.
The community gets to decide what they want to do each reset. It sounds pretty casual and open and it is welcoming for any ages.
The host says they are 14 and they just want people to have fun.
