TrootheSMP is a friendly cross play survival SMP that tries to keep the game feeling like real survival. It runs in seasons and Season 5 is going right now. The seasons are meant to last long enough so people can actually build big stuff and make progress and set up shops without constant wipes.
The server is not 18 plus but it still expects players to act mature and respectful. It has a few small enhancements that are picked to help with quality of life and building while still keeping the core experience.
You can link your account with Discord and get updates and use community tools. The economy is item based and shops are physical and player run. There are land claims so building is safer and there are QoL changes like armored elytra and villager leashes. Simple Voice Chat is supported too.

There is no world protection here. Everything is player enforced so if your town survives it is because you defended it. If it falls that is on you.

Stormy Lagoon is a long term SMP that supports Java and Bedrock crossplay. It feels fair and balanced and it also says it is not pay to win since ranks and perks are earnable.
The server has custom progression with Stormy Items that level up and can get abilities. There is also custom combat gear like a trident shield and spear. You can do daily missions with three tasks each day and work on quest milestones for bigger long term rewards.
It runs mcMMO so you can level skills like combat mining and fishing. The economy is player driven so people can buy sell and trade. You can earn rewards through activity like Pearls Diamonds and rank progress then spend Pearls in a shop for perks ranks and cosmetics.
