Foggy Willows is a survival server that sticks to real vanilla. It runs on the normal minecraft server jar with no plugins and no datapacks. It stays on the latest stable vanilla version.
Spawn is not a big confusing place and you are not forced to read a bunch of stories. Players are expected to handle their own social problems and just play the game. You can build what you want and play how you want.

Revives are not easy at all. A player has to get your actual head and then use an expensive shrine ritual with an echo shard and a nether star. Heads cannot be griefed so there is always a chance if your friends are brave enough.
The world is made for big stories. The Farlands generate way out at 12.55 million blocks and players can really go there. There is also only one mace in the whole world at a time so whoever holds it becomes a big deal.
PvP is more grounded because crystal PvP is not allowed. The server runs Fabric 1.21.11 with a light setup to keep the vanilla feel. Redstone works like vanilla so people can build crazy machines and even orbital strike cannons.

I found Iperios and it is a modded server where players can make their own nation. You can pick your own kind of government and set laws and ranks for your group.
If you do not want to run a nation you can join one that already exists. It is built around the All the Mods 10 modpack and it says to use version 5.5.
