Luminary Falls is a cozy survival SMP for adults who really like Minecraft. It is an 18 plus whitelist server with a mature and friendly vibe. People play from all over the world so there is almost always someone online.
The server is survival with a vanilla feel. It uses quality of life plugins and datapacks but nothing pay to win. The goal is to keep the game smooth and fun without breaking the normal Minecraft style. There are resource worlds so the main world does not have to reset. That means your builds can last for years.
The community feels very welcoming and relaxed. It is LGBTQ plus friendly and focused on being uplifting. You can explore build farm do redstone or join community events. There are around 50 unique players each week so you are not stuck playing alone.
The staff team has many years of experience running servers. They use that to keep things stable fair and organized. You have to read the rules and fill out a whitelist application to join so the server stays safe and mature for everyone.

MineRealm is a really old survival server that has been running since 2010 and a ton of players have joined it over the years. When I joined it felt like a classic SMP world that just kept going instead of resetting all the time.
The world is smaller and it slowly expands so new land generates in the newest version. Builds are protected with their own protection system and with CoreProtect so griefing is not really a thing here. Your stuff is meant to stay safe and not just vanish in a reset.
The server stays very close to vanilla but there are some custom plugins that add a few unique features and help the community play together better. Almost everything you see is built by players and not some giant prefab hub that was spawned in.
There is no pay to win and no spawned items so all progress is done by actually playing survival. The server has a lot of public infrastructure that players made over time so it is easy to get started and then work on your own long term projects.

This is a modded Minecraft server that is running a big team deathmatch tournament with real money for the winners. The owner set it up so everyone can join early and grind materials before the main fighting starts on the 20th.
You can make a team with up to four players. The team that wins splits 100 dollars but if every member of the winning team stays alive and survives then they split 200 dollars instead. You only get fully knocked out of the tournament if another player kills you.
When someone gets a final kill the killer has to send a screenshot of the chat message that says who killed who. Then the server owner puts the dead player into spectator mode so they are out. If anyone gets caught using x ray then their whole team is banned and everyone they killed gets revived.
If you just stop playing for more than a week and you do not say why you get disqualified and it counts like you died. You also have to submit your list of teammates before the 20th or you will not count for the tournament. If you think someone is cheating the owner will check the logs with you but you can only call hacks three times.
The server feels like a serious but still pretty chill event where people want fair fights and real competition. It is good if you like modded Minecraft and team PvP and you want to play for a prize and bragging rights.

Ordinary SMP is a vanilla Java survival server that feels like a small friendly town. It is whitelisted so the players are usually respectful and want to build cool stuff together.
The server is always updated and right now it runs on version 1.21.11. It is a normal SMP where you can start fresh or move in like it is your new Minecraft home.
The community is tight knit and there are people from different places who like to build explore and work on big community projects. There is grief protection using Ledger so staff can check griefing or theft and help keep bases safe.
There are some extra features that make the world feel alive like BlueMap so you can see the world on an online map. There is AudioPlayer for custom audio and Simple VoiceChat so you can talk to people right in game.
The server also has dragon elytra drops and a custom resource pack with special cosmetics trophies and event rewards. The theme is inspired by HermitCraft and they like hearing ideas for new custom items.
There are server wide events like PvP battles building contests and huge community builds so there is usually something going on. If you like building exploring redstone or just hanging out this server is made for that.
Overall it feels like a relaxed SMP where you can stay for a long time and watch the world grow with the same group of players.

Grub Lounge is a PvP lifesteal server that is going into a big beta test. The whole point is to break stuff and find all the bugs and crazy exploits before the real launch.
You gain and lose hearts when you fight so every duel can change your max health. There are claim and territory systems plus custom raiding tools so bases are not really safe if people figure out how to get in. The world is custom generated with special monuments and bosses that have their own mechanics and loot.
There are lootable crates and chests that only give rewards one time then they despawn. There is also a player economy with an auction house and shops that they are still balancing. A lot of custom items and artifacts tie into the progression and scaling systems that are being tested.
The owners want players to push everything to the limit and report dupes exploits balance issues confusing mechanics and performance problems. Progress might get wiped and things will definitely change. Abusing mechanics during beta is actually good but doing that after launch will get you banned.
If you like testing servers and trying to break Minecraft stuff this beta looks pretty fun and chaotic.
