Headrest SMP is a Paper server with a chill community that also likes some drama and wars. It is on 1.20.10 and it uses quality of life plugins plus world stuff like Terralith and extra structures so exploring feels more exciting.
The server is roleplay focused and players can make factions build bases and get into fights when it makes sense. PvP is more of a side thing but wars can still happen and people can make friends or betray each other.
There is a safe zone at spawn where people can build shops and hang out. They also use a simple voice chat mod so talking in game is a big part of the vibe.
Combat has rules with plugins like combat logging protection and no elytra during combat. There are extra fun plugins too like /sit. Gilded Abyss is a modded SMP that is going into Season 2 and it is built around a medieval era kind of vibe.
When you join you slowly get placed into one of two groups and you get daily tasks as the season keeps going. The End stays closed at first and opens after a full week and then there is an event.
The world is made to be fun to explore with extra biomes and terrain from Biomes o Plenty and Terralith. You can also pick an Origin in game so your race matters for how you play.
There are special items you can earn in different ways and there are custom bosses for people who want hard fights. The Create mod is also in so you can build machines and automate stuff as long as it is reasonable.

Duck’s Anarchy is a straight up anarchy server with no rules and no limits. There is only one gamemode and it is anarchy. There are no side modes and no safe zones.
It feels like the whole world is run by the players. Griefing raiding PvP traps betrayal huge builds and wiping stuff out is just normal here. Staff do not step in when fights and wars happen.
There are no resets that wipe what you did and there are no protections that save your base. If you make it and build something big it is because you played smart careful or ruthless.
