I found a modded survival server that feels like you stepped into a dark fantasy story. It has lore about a sealed gate and stone portals that lead to strange new worlds. The world has colorful wonder but it also feels dangerous at night.

I found Anarchy Network and it is a semi anarchy survival server that tries to feel like real Vanilla Minecraft. It started on October 11th 2024 and it is hosted in New York City.
It stays online all the time and it lets Java players join from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.11. They recommend 1.21.10 so things run smoother.
The world is huge with a 2 million block border and there are no map resets. There is no teleporting and no pay to win stuff. PvP and griefing are allowed so you should build smart.
The only command they allow is /spawn so players far away are not stuck forever. Nether roof is allowed. Phantoms are removed and only half the players are needed to skip the night.

Claims are on so you do not have to stress about griefing. There are a bunch of quality of life changes like voice chat and messages better harvesting chest sorting a gradient tool graves and a live map.
Fishing is a big thing here because there are lots of new fish and you can sell them for money plus there is a leaderboard for the best fisherman. There are also 11 special enchantment books for building and gathering like breaking a whole tree at once or getting haste for mining.
The jobs system pays you for most actions and you do not have to pick only a few jobs since you are in every job at the same time. There is also a centralized storage network where you can set up a terminal in your base and link chests so you can search and store items way easier.
