Avalon is a Minecraft Java SMP with an Arthurian myth vibe. It feels like an MMO style world where players can team up and form alliances then build kingdoms and make their own story.
The server uses custom mods to make gameplay more interesting. There is a player driven economy and you can jump into PvP and combat challenges if you want.
Avalon also runs events and giveaways plus community activities. If you like lore and storytelling you can get into that too. The community is growing and there is always something new to do.

Waystone is a small whitelisted Java SMP on 1.21.11 that has kept the same world since 2 December 2025. There are no resets and no seasons and no economy. It feels like a hermit style server where people settle in and build real places.
Travel is different because there are no teleport commands. You move around using waystones placed around the world so exploring matters and the map feels alive.
There is a skills system from ValhallaMMO that levels up while you play so mining and building and trading and combat all grow over time. Playtime ranks also unlock more as you stick around.
It uses custom plugins made for the server like binbag to clear junk and salvage to reclaim materials plus a custom rank progression system. SimpleVoiceChat is enabled so you can talk with proximity chat or in groups.
They run weekly events and talk openly about what they are working on. Staff actually plays with everyone. Deaths drop a gravestone that holds your items for hours. PvP is consent based and land claims help keep builds safe and there is a live map you can view.

Cobblemon Rocket is a Cobblemon server where people battle build and meet new players.
It has raids and mega evolutions and player run gym leaders. There are also lots of building options and some quality of life upgrades so it feels smoother to play.
The staff listens to feedback and keeps changing things based on what the community suggests.
There is a big gym leader scene and they fight for spots in the Elite Four. After that challengers can try to battle their way up and go for the Champion title.
It is a small active community and they want more people to join in.

NisseSMP is a HermitCraft inspired survival server with a vanilla plus feel. It supports Java and Bedrock crossplay so more people can play together.
The server runs on trust and fair play. There is no griefing and no PvP so it stays chill and build focused.
There are no claims so you just respect other players builds. It also has an open access setup with no whitelist so anyone can join.
The economy is run by players with shops and trading plus a virtual currency. The server uses vanilla plus plugins that are just quality of life and not game breaking.
During peak times it can have around 30 to 60 players online and the community stays active. There is also a live map so you can see what is going on in the world.

I found a server called BudderCraft and it feels like one of those places where there is always something going on.
It has tower defense and factions so you can fight and also do the whole team and territory thing.
My favorite part was the creative mode area. It is super bugged and I even made a villager that sells operator items which was kinda wild. If you look at the map at the creative spawn you can see my huge Operator Items text.
The owner seems pretty friendly and the server just has that messy fun vibe that makes you want to stay and mess around.
