SurvivalTales SMP is a new semi vanilla survival server that just opened and it is ready for new players. It has a friendly community based in the EU and the whole idea is to make survival feel better and more fun.
The server works for both Java and Bedrock so friends on different platforms can still play together. The world has custom generation and custom hand made structures in the Overworld the Nether and the End so exploring feels fresh. There are also new mobs to discover which makes the adventure feel different from normal.
The economy is player based and the grind is meant to be slow so progress actually feels like it matters. There is anti grief so people can build and not worry about their stuff getting ruined. There is a live map so you can see the world from a browser and plan where you want to go.
Ranks are earned by voting and there is no pay to win at all so everyone can reach goals just by playing and supporting the server. The server is focused on fair survival gameplay and a chill community where you can start your own survival tale with others.

I found a new Towny server called GamerHub Towny and it is built around towns and a small friendly community. The big thing is it has no resets so your builds can stay.
Griefing and stealing are not allowed so it feels safer to play. A lot of the players are from Oceania and the US and people are ready to help new players.
It has ingame ranking that uses ingame money and it also has Dynmap so you can see the world. There are player warps and player shops plus a sell only server shop. It also has Jobs and MCMMO.

Anarchy Network is a semi anarchy survival server that tries to feel like real Vanilla Minecraft with only a few changes. It has minimal rules and it is meant for people who want a pure survival world where stuff can actually get destroyed.
The server runs 24 7 and it is hosted in New York City. You can join on Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.11 and they recommend 1.21.10 if you want less issues.
The world border is huge at 2 million blocks. There are no map resets and no teleporting. There is also no pay to win. Griefing and pvp are allowed so you have to stay ready.
The only command they allow is spawn so players far out are not stuck away from everything. Nether roof access is allowed. Phantoms are removed and it only takes half the players to skip night.

The server runs on Paper and it is semi vanilla. You can claim land to protect your builds and you can use sethome so getting back is easy. There is also voice chat available and image maps are supported.
The server is officially opening Saturday the 14th at 5 30 GMT and everyone starts fresh. The owner streams on the server a lot around 5 to 6pm GMT and players sometimes join while they are live. Viking Factions OG is a classic factions server that is trying to feel like the old days but it runs on Minecraft 1.21.4+. The big deal here is the combat. It uses 1.8 style pot PvP so fights are more skill based.
It is not pay to win and the ranks are cheap and not overpowered. Raiding is a huge part of it with complex style cannoning. There is even an in game cannon schematics creator so you can design and build cannons without any client side mods.
There is a dedicated bunkers world for base raiding. You can also do custom dungeons for unique loot. If you like proving yourself there are ranked duels with ELO.
