Storybook SMP is a small fantasy survival server where everyone plays as cool creatures like vampires or werewolves using mods. It feels like a fairytale world with monsters and magic and the whole server is built around that idea.
The community is chill and pretty mature. There are around ten active players and they all live close together near the spawn village so it is easy to meet people. Most of the time players hang out build bases and do projects together. PvP is not the main thing and it only happens if both players agree first.
The server is 13 plus so you do not need to be an adult to join. As long as you are friendly and respectful you can fit in. People seem patient and not rushed so you can take your time to build a house and settle in.
Storybook SMP is also focused on roleplay. Everyone needs a character backstory when they apply because it is part of the whitelist questions. After you join you post your backstory in a public place so other players can read it and you can read theirs too.
The big official roleplay story has not started yet and the ending is not planned. The community will decide together when to begin so new players still have a chance to help shape the lore. It feels like a cozy story world that is still being written.

VanillaNorth feels like real survival again and not like some server stuck on creative mode. People fight and the world can be rough so you have to stay alert.
Griefing and raiding are fully allowed so if someone finds your place they can take it. There are no claims so you build at your own risk.
Hacking and x ray are banned and they try to keep it fair for everyone. It is pure vanilla with no economy plugins no vote crates and no pay to win.

CaveMC is a semi anarchy survival server that sticks close to vanilla but the whole overworld is underground. There is no surface at all so you live in caves forever and you have to learn the biomes and structures down there.

MinedHype is a friendly long term public survival server that has been run by the same owner for about 6 years. It started back in 1.14 and a ton of players have joined over time so it feels like a real community.
The gameplay is mostly vanilla and it runs on Minecraft 1.21.11. There is no pay to win and there is no money economy plugin so trading is mainly player to player with item trades and player run shops.
You can protect your builds with claims and unclaimed areas can be griefed so claiming matters. CoreProtect is used to help protect the server.
The Overworld and Nether are meant to stay long term and not get wiped. There is no set world border and new players spawn randomly within the first 40k blocks and you can use random teleport to find a spot then set a home.
