StarFrost is a semi vanilla survival server that is all about drama and conflict and not about being cozy.
The world has a border so everyone is forced to live close together. Towns get built next to enemies. Alliances are made but they do not last forever. There are no land claims and no world protection so everything is enforced by players.
If you build a town and it survives it is because you fought for it. If it gets destroyed that is on you. People raid each other. They take revenge and hold grudges. Deals happen in secret and then get broken in public. Other players remember what you did.
The server is whitelist only and it has a hard cap of 35 players. When it is full that is it so every name actually matters. The server supports versions from 1.16 up to 1.21.11.
If you want to feel safe this is not the right place. If you want action and tension and a world where players control everything then StarFrost fits you.

The rules are light. Do not grief builds but PvP is fair game. The point is to build explore and hang out without a bunch of stress.
It runs on Paper 1.21.3 with minimal plugins so it still feels close to vanilla. Simple Voice Chat is installed. They might add features later if the community asks for it.

I found a new Towny server called GamerHub Towny and it is built around towns and a small friendly community. The big thing is it has no resets so your builds can stay.
Griefing and stealing are not allowed so it feels safer to play. A lot of the players are from Oceania and the US and people are ready to help new players.
It has ingame ranking that uses ingame money and it also has Dynmap so you can see the world. There are player warps and player shops plus a sell only server shop. It also has Jobs and MCMMO.
