I found a server that just dropped the Ruinmoss Dungeon and it is made to feel like real endgame content.
You go in with a team in private 4 player instances and you fight multiple custom bosses. The last fight has progressive summons and it can overwhelm your group if you are not coordinated.
They are actively balancing the dungeon right now and keep inventory is enabled inside while they tune the difficulty. Maces also have a special interaction in one encounter that can help you clear faster.
Every clear gives a Fairy Key and there are hidden chests plus new dungeon materials that are meant to connect to future updates.
I found a lifesteal style SMP that is trying really hard to not die in two weeks. It is built around PvP but it is not just farming hearts and stomping new players forever. The owner says they wrote a huge custom plugin from scratch to keep fights interesting and give people more to do.
The combat is way different from normal. It has directional knockback and momentum hits plus air juggles and ground pounds. There are 5 unlockable combat abilities called Berserker Phantom Titan Phoenix and Paladin and they change how you fight.
There are 28 custom enchantments and also 4 hidden combos that are not explained in game so you have to figure them out. The overworld has a Wilds system where it gets more dangerous the farther you go from spawn with 5 threat levels. There are custom mobs with real AI and 8 biome mini bosses plus procedural ruins outposts and strongholds with loot.
There is also a giant Colossus boss you can summon at stronghold altars. It has 8000 HP and 3 phases and it is meant for at least 3 players to get loot. The server runs on Paper 1.21 and it supports Java and Bedrock crossplay.
I found EchelonMC and it is a hand built survival SMP that is made to last. It is hosted in Canada and it has had about two months of active development. The owner Eddy builds it based on what players suggest and they say over 100 suggestions are already in.
This server is trying to feel different from recycled SMPs. It is custom built from scratch and it is not pay to win. It also says there are no resets planned so your long term builds can stay.
A big part is the Echelites currency. You earn it just by playing like mining farming fishing exploring and building. Then you can spend it on progression and quality of life upgrades.
Land claiming looks really deep here with visual borders and chunk settings plus TNT and creeper control fire spread protection raid prevention and more. There are teams with invites and private team chat. There are public builds you can list so people can visit vote and climb rankings. It also has timed graves to help you recover items in a balanced way.
The vibe is community driven and focused on real progression and strong community with no griefing focus.
I found RevsMC and it is a fresh 18+ Minecraft Java SMP running the ATM10 modpack. It starts with a brand new world and borders that are waiting to be claimed.
The whole vibe is long term survival with politics and progression. People can make factions nations clans or whatever group they want. You can build power and form alliances.
There are shops and a player economy too so trading actually matters. It sounds like the point is to build real history over time and not have the world die after two weeks.
BackToBlocks is a simple vanilla survival server with some nice QoL stuff added. It works for Java and Bedrock so more friends can play together.
People build at spawn and also host events there. The end island is a place to decorate and the nether hub is a big shared project too.
You can use stuff like set homes and tpa and there is a shopping district for trading. There is also /itemflip so you can gamble your items if you feel brave.
It is not a PvP server but PvP and raiding are allowed within limits. Griefing is not allowed and the vibe is no drama and no pay to win.
