Distant Systems is a survival server that mixes Towny style building with RPG stuff. It feels like a mix of a normal SMP and an adventure game.
You can pick an Origin so your character has special buffs that match how you like to play. There are custom enchantments NPC quests reforging boss fights custom armor and special items. It feels like there is always something to work toward instead of just mining and building.
The main world is survival with towns and community building so you can play together without needing some super serious commitment. People seem focused on working together and making cool places.
There is also a lobby that leads to extra game modes like Oneblock BedWars and Creative plots with WorldEdit. So you can swap between survival and mini games or just go build stuff in creative.

This server is a survival world that feels really raw and old school. It is vanilla style and you are on your own almost all the time. There is griefing and pvp so anything you build can be destroyed and anyone can kill you.
The world is from 2014 and it never reset. That means there is tons of history and old bases out there if you can find them. Nothing gets wiped so every block placed might stay there forever unless someone blows it up.
There are no cheats allowed like hacking or duping items. You also do not get stuff like RTP or TPA. You have to walk or ride everywhere and survive using your own skills.
The chat is very free. You will not get banned for what you say unless it is illegal stuff. There are no chat reports and the admins are not clingy. They do not follow you around and they just let players do their thing.

This is an anarchy style Minecraft server called MinecraftOffline. It is hosted in Finland so it feels really good for players in Europe.
The world is eternal and they say they never reset it. That means everything players build or destroy just keeps stacking up over time. It makes the world feel old and kind of dangerous.
The server runs on Minecraft version 1.21.10. They use their own special plugins to change and enhance the gameplay but it still feels like survival at the core.

This is a hardcore modded SMP where you only get one life. If you die you are banned forever so every fight actually matters. It feels really intense and kind of scary in a fun way.
The server uses Origins so everyone has a special playstyle with real strengths and weaknesses. Combat is very medieval with different weapons like spears and warhammers and they all work differently. There are a ton of custom bows too so ranged players can do ambushes and sniping.
There is proximity voice chat so you hear people only when they are close. That makes alliances betrayals and surprise attacks feel way more real. The world has lots of new structures ruins dungeons and landscapes to explore and there is custom lore hidden in books called field logs. You can follow clues to find secret ruins and treasure.
The server is hardcore survival with no hub no kits and no hand holding. It is whitelist only and runs Java with Fabric mods.
