Davidscloud is a survival PvE server network that has been around since 1.7.10 and it is built for long term play. It feels like a place where people just want to chill build and explore without pay to win stuff.
Griefing is not really a problem because it uses claim protection. You start with 2000 claim blocks and you earn 120 more per hour you play. Pets are protected too and there is an active admin team if you need help.
The server has quality of life features but it stays fair. There is a banking system that earns interest while you play and a survival spawn market where you can buy basics like potions fish wood and more.
There are multiple worlds including a main survival world and an amplified world with the newer caves and cliffs style. You can get to the amplified world through an NPC at survival spawn. I found a server called AZURE SMP that is trying to recreate the AltarSMP but in their own way
It is an SMP with PVP and it leans semi anarchy so it sounds like things can get wild
