Australia Vanilla Anarchy No Rules
LegacyMC is a vanilla anarchy survival server with a raw feel. There are no rules and the world is fully open so players decide what happens.
It started in June 2025 so it is still a chance to make history. There are no resets and no land protection so builds can last or get wiped by other players.
PvP is on and griefing and raiding are allowed. There is no teleporting and no admin interference so you have to travel and survive the hard way.
It is hosted on dedicated hardware in Australia which is meant to keep latency low for Australia and New Zealand players. ArcticMC is a brand new SMP that mixes Towny and factions so you can build a town team up with others or take land for yourself.
PVP matters here but it is not just random chaos because they use an honor system and it is explained in their rules on Discord.
You can level up McMMO skills while you play so mining combat and other stuff feels like you are getting stronger over time with special abilities.
The server also has custom items like furniture and it uses entity based pieces so they plan limits per chunk to help with lag.
The world uses Tectonic generation so the terrain looks more realistic with big mountains and valleys and it feels fun to explore.

GamerHub Towny is a small Towny and SMP server with a chill community and a no grief vibe. It is also no reset so your builds and towns are meant to stick around.
People mostly play in the mornings to early afternoon AEST when the US players are on then it gets active again late at night AEST when EU wakes up. There are already some Aussie players on in the evenings too so you are not alone.
The server has Towny so you can build claim and grow a town. It also has jobs MCMMO and ranks plus dynmap. There are player warps player shops and a sell only server shop.

I found a newer server that is built around a custom tech and magic modpack and it is meant to last a long time. The main vibe is role play and RPG style survival with a big community focus.
Players get a lot of choice in how they play because of the origins setup. You pick things like a race and class and magic alignment and a background plus a second class. There are tons of options so it is easy to make a unique build and grow stronger over time with the skill system.
The tech side is based around create so people can build factories and trains and make big projects. There are also options for players who do not want to be magic users so you can still fit into the world.
Exploring sounds like a huge part of it with lots of dungeons and structures and scary creatures across the realm.
