This server is called Halcyon and it is a Lands PvP world with a big medieval vibe. It was started by a postgraduate medievalist so the whole place feels like an old world survival story.
The server runs on the latest vanilla version and uses a handmade custom world. There are only a few gameplay rules but they make things harder on purpose. Progress is slow on this server and you cannot just rush with meta tricks or big farms. You have to rely on teamwork smart planning and real effort.
There is no teleportation at all so travel is a huge part of the game. Players build long roads waystations and even secret underground railways to connect their bases. Biomes are very important because crops and saplings only grow in certain places. This makes trading between regions super important and gives every area its own style.
Halcyon does not force any strict lore and the admins do not push you into a story. You just join pick a direction punch some trees and start from nothing. Over time your builds your trades and your fights with other players slowly turn into big stories.
On this server success is not about exploits or automation. It is about bravery in battles smart trade deals strong cities and fortresses and being able to bring other players to fight under your banner. The community is spread across Europe the Americas Asia and more so there are usually people online most of the time.

AvalonEarth is a earthsmp style server where the whole world map is scaled down to 1 to 500 so there is a lot of land to claim and build nations.
The server uses Towny as the main plugin so players can make towns and nations and control territory. Anyone can start a nation because you get starter money when you join so you do not need to grind first or meet some weird player requirement.
Season one started in September and the community from that season stuck around and helped the server grow. Now the second season is out and there are a lot of new players and the world feels very active.
There are tons of wars and conflicts between nations so if you like pvp and strategy this server is made for you. If you do not like fighting you can also live a more peaceful life and just avoid most of the big wars.
You can earn money mainly with jobs farming and fishing and the owner said more ways to make money are being added soon.
Overall it feels like a busy geopolitics server where new and old players can start a nation fast and then decide if they want to be peaceful builders or join huge wars.

This is a small survival server that feels really calm and relaxed. The players are mostly adults in their 20s and 30s and they just like to hang out and take things slow. The server is meant for people who want to play Minecraft without drama and just enjoy the game.
The world is kind of long term and usually lasts about a year before it resets. Right now the Nether is open and the group is working on a proper nether highway to link up bases. The End is still not opened yet. They want to go there together for the first time and use voice chat while they explore.
The server runs Java 1.21.10 and it also works with Bedrock so different platforms can join. It has a few optional quality of life plugins so it keeps a mostly normal survival feel but a bit more comfy.

Outcrafted SMP Season 3 is a semi vanilla world that is starting up again and it is looking for a lot of active players.
The server is made for players who are 16 or older so the community feels a bit more mature. There is no big application or interview. You just join and follow the rules and you are good.
The gameplay is mostly normal survival but there are some extra things that make it different. There is simple voice chat so people can talk in game. There are dungeons and taverns that add new structures so exploring the world feels more exciting. There are also some custom maces to mix up combat this season.
From what I can tell the server wants 50 to 100 active players so there should be a lot of people on to play with and team up with. If you want a new season style SMP with light extras and a chill vibe this one feels pretty good.

Yukraft is a chill semi vanilla server that feels like a small town where everyone actually knows each other. When you join it is mostly about normal survival but with a few helpful perks that make things less annoying.
The server has grief and theft protection so your builds and chests are safe. There is a death chest system so when you die your stuff goes into a locked chest instead of flying everywhere. There is also a tree chopping feature you can toggle to make cutting trees way faster.
Ranks are based on how active you are. So the more you play and help out the more perks you will unlock over time. It feels like the server rewards people who actually stick around instead of just people with money.
The community is a big focus here. Players help new people get started and there is a strong core group that looks out for each other. The server is very inclusive and welcomes people from all walks of life and is clearly LGBTQ2S+ friendly and wants to be a safe space.
Yukraft works for both Java and Bedrock so you can play with friends even if they are on different editions. If you want a friendly active survival world with simple gameplay and some nice quality of life stuff this server fits that really well.
