This server is like old school Minecraft where you just survive and try not to get jumped.
It is a simple survival world with pvp on and griefing allowed so you really have to watch your back. There are no land claims and no safe zones. If you build something someone can raid it. If you want loot you go and take it.
There are no crazy plugins or complicated rules. It is mostly pure survival like the game is meant to be played. You can build a base hide your stuff form teams with other players or completely betray them. Everything like that is fair game.
The server runs all day and it is made for a smaller active community not a giant laggy server. Right now there are only a few people playing so new players can still catch up and the world is not super developed yet.
Players here like pvp but they also are not trying to be super toxic. Griefing in game is fine but being a jerk in chat is not. They are looking for people who will play at least somewhat regularly and not disappear after one day.
If you want a simple survival pvp server with no teleports no land claims and a focus on raiding and defending your own base this server really fits that style.

This server is trying to be like those big donut smp style worlds but in a smaller chill way. It has an economy so you can earn and spend money instead of just grinding alone.
Each player gets a 16×16 plot so you have your own little spot to build and not get in other peoples way. It feels organized but still simple.
There is a shop command so you can buy and sell stuff and it makes survival feel more like a little town world. The owner is just looking for kind players who want to help the server grow and not be toxic.
Anyone can join and it really feels like they want a friendly community more than sweaty tryhard pvp. If you like small servers that are starting out and want to be there from the beginning this one seems pretty good.

Arctic MC is a calm towny survival server where the world feels really cozy. The custom world generation has big valleys and hills so it is fun to explore and look for a place to build your next huge base or town.
The server uses Towny and Factions so you can start a town with friends or join someone else or try to make your own territory. It also has McMMO so your skills level up as you play and you feel like you are getting stronger over time.
There is Slimefun with tons of custom machines tools and materials so you can make crazy automations and mess with high tech stuff without leaving survival.

Malgazars Lair is a small semi vanilla server that started as a group of five friends and now they want more people to join.
The server has a forever server vibe. They plan to keep it going and update it to the latest version every time so it never feels old.

This is a small survival server that is vanilla plus with just a few mods. The main stuff is Waystones and Simple VC so it still feels like normal Minecraft.
There are some builder focused teams and players that work on big builds. Most people are already in endgame so there is a lot of loot around and it is easy to gear up if you join.

This is a classic style prison server that feels like the old days. It is not an OP prison and you actually have to grind to rank up. You start with basic tools and leather armor and you work your way through the prison ranks.
You mine ores smelt them yourself and walk through pvp zones to sell them in the commissary. There is no insta sell so the grind is real. Swords and potions count as contraband and guards will fight you if they see you with them.
There are ranks from A all the way to Parolee and Citizen. After you hit the top rank you can prestige for special rewards. If you become a Parolee you can leave the prison and build a farm to make even more money.
You can rent a prison cell or a plot to store stuff grow illegal custom plants build or make your own shop. Those illegal plants are risky because guards can catch you. There are quests that give extra cash or special items and there is an auction house for selling things.
The server also has custom fishing parkour challenges and a bounty system where you put money on other players heads. Guards and senior guards keep order and can even send people to solitary confinement for bad behavior. It is a grindy prison server with pvp danger and a focus on old school community play.
