I found Goober SMP and it is a new Vanilla+ survival server that just started so the world is still fresh. It already has a small active group and it feels like it wants a chill community with lots of player interaction.
The gameplay stays mostly vanilla but it adds a few extra things to make multiplayer more fun. PvP is allowed so you can fight if you want but it also pushes building and community projects like towns.
It runs on Java 1.21.11 and it has whitelist on. There is also SVC mod support plus a head drop feature where players can drop their heads. Server wide events are planned too so sometimes it might get chaotic.
