WhimsyWillow is a small community focused Minecraft server and Season 3 is live with mods. The mod list was picked by the community so it feels like everyone had a say.
There is a ton to explore with over 100 biomes using Biomes O Plenty plus Terratonic and there are also structures around the world. You can also mess with the Create mod and build machines as long as it is reasonable.
The server has a Bluemap world map so you can look around the whole world. Progression is also boosted with more ores plus new tools and weapons.
Spawn is kept nice and there is a shop district with player made shops that can sell whatever they want. The staff and players are big on suggestions and they try to run events sometimes to keep things active. It is whitelist based and you apply with a short application.

I found a hardcore survival SMP called LUMI HARDCORE and it is mostly vanilla with one big rule. You only get one life.
If you die you do not come back right away. You end up in an infirmary until the next reset and there are no revives.
The world resets every 60 days so each season uses a brand new seed. That means nobody keeps a huge head start for long and everyone gets a fresh start together.
It is whitelisted so you have to apply to get in. It also supports both Java and Bedrock since crossplay is enabled.

Off-Script SMP is a crossplay survival server where Java and Bedrock players can play together. It is meant for people who hate playing alone and want a chill place to build with others.
The server uses GeyserMC and has some plugins and datapacks like chest claiming and realistic sized mobs. There is also a QOL datapack made by the owners.
The world has a small but growing border so players stay closer together. The border increases every 1 to 2 weeks.
Staff are super understanding about item loss or pet loss and even when you get annoyed trying to find stuff. They can help you out for the right diamond price.
There are small roleplay and lore parts. It is build focused so if you mainly want PvP then this is not the server for you.
It is mostly 16+ and a lot of members are around 18+. You will need to apply to get whitelisted and it is mainly there to stop flooding. The server has been open since February 7th 2026 and it is on 1.21.11.

The Oasis is a nations whitelist server where players run kingdoms with real ranks like King and Duke and General. It feels like a serious medieval fantasy world where people actually make plans and argue about borders.
Land can be conquered and the war system has structure with annexation. The economy changes based on how well your nation is doing and it even ties into your race with its own currency so trade matters.
You pick a race like Dwarves Humans Orcs Elves or Zoryn. Each one has a 100 level progression tree with strengths weaknesses and special abilities.
There is a fully custom brewing system with rarity tiers plus magical and combat potions. There are also custom enchantments like lifesteal double jump armor piercing and invisibility triggers.
The world does not do seasonal wipes so your kingdom can rise or fall and still be part of the history. Punishments are temporary so the world keeps going long term.

Waystone is a small semi vanilla Java SMP that feels a lot like a Hermit style server. People actually build and chat and try to stick around for the long term. It is whitelist only and it is meant to be chill not sweaty.
The world is long term and there are no constant resets. There is no pay to win stuff either so it stays fair.
You can claim land so your builds stay safe while you make towns or big projects at your own pace. Death is less annoying since your items get saved in a gravestone for a few hours.
There is a skills system that levels as you play and gives small perks over time. When you go raiding together everyone gets their own loot so nobody has to argue.
Proximity voice chat is optional and you can also use party chat. The server has seasons and holiday events so the world feels more alive. It is hosted in the UK and it runs on Java 1.21.11.
