This is a Kingdoms SMP that is starting on Friday the 20th of February at 6pm GMT.
It is a roleplay factions server where players make their own kingdoms. You can declare war on other kingdoms or stay peaceful and just build up your place.
The world uses a custom 10k by 10k map. The nether and the end are turned off.
There are weekly events and they are trying to build an active loyal community. There are already multiple kingdoms made and around 20 players waiting. Joining early matters because there are custom structures with loot so early explorers can get ahead.

I found a survival server that goes hard on world building and geopolitics. Players make nations and the whole world is about diplomacy war economy and just staying alive.
It runs on 1.21.11 and it lets people join on different versions with ViaBackward. The world starts at 5000 by 5000 and it can expand when more players show up.
Travel is a big deal because there are no elytras. There are also no villagers so you cannot just trade forever. Crafting is tougher with custom recipes and netherite is 1 to 1 so it is not free.
Claims and borders are handled with a lands system so nations can hold territory. Roads and rails matter too since you move faster on proper roads and minecarts go way faster on powered rails.
There is a grindstone rework that lets you pull enchantments off and turn them into books. Farming and fishing are reworked so food and loot take more planning. You can also silk touch spawners and move them which changes defense and farming a lot.

The server also has custom fishing loot. Fishing can give you rare and useful items that might change who has the upper hand between nations.
There are no elytras and no villagers. Travel is harder and borders and terrain matter again. You do not get easy gear and you have to rely on other players instead of villager trades. This is a modded geopolitical server where players make nations start wars and do diplomacy instead of just rushing each other.
Fights are mainly about npc soldiers using the Villager Recruits mod so it is more like strategy and army control and less about sweaty vanilla pvp. You cannot just teleport over defenses or crystal pvp or fly over walls so you actually have to plan your attacks and defenses.
The current map is based on the lands around the North Sea like Norway France and the British Isles with a middle ages vibe but you do not have to stick to the theme if you do not want to. The world gets reset when activity dies and the themes swap between historical and sci fi which also changes the modpack.
Right now the modpack has stuff like Create Farmer style mods npc recruits ships armor weapons siege machines and more so the world feels alive and detailed. You can run a big nation command armies roleplay as a famous ruler or just own a small shop inside someone else’s nation.
