RigoloSMP is a vanilla style SMP that has been around for about three years. It went offline for a while and now it is back with a mini season. The world border is smaller right now and is about 3072 by 3072. It grows every Friday. Next season will go back to a normal border.
The server uses a few plugins like simple voice chat custom music discs custom goat horns squaremap and co inspect. None of these change the base game so it still feels like regular Minecraft. Donator perks are also not pay to win and for this mini season they are free.
The server used to hit around 50 players and they are trying to get that active community back. The current season really needs more players. The person talking about it even started as a normal player and is now a manager so it seems like the staff come from the community.
If you want a simple vanilla feeling SMP with a small world that slowly expands this server is trying hard to start up again and get new people.

Sunset Retreat SMP is a seasonal vanilla plus server for players who are 18 or older. It is based in the EU and the whole idea is to escape stress and just relax while playing Minecraft with other adults.
The server is whitelisted so the community stays chill and mature. People are welcoming and inclusive so it feels easy to join and talk or just hang out. It seems like a good place to meet new friends who also love survival.
The gameplay is mostly vanilla with only quality of life additions. There is voice chat for talking in game plus mob and player heads and a world map style feature. Bedrock players can join too so more people can play together.

HollowSMP Season 2 just started and it feels like a fresh new world to grind on. It is Survival plus so it keeps the vanilla survival style but adds some quality of life stuff that makes everything smoother.
The server is on Java 1.21.10 and it also supports Bedrock players so your friends on other platforms can join too. There is built in proximity voice chat so people can talk when they get close in game which makes exploring and teaming way more fun.
Spawn is protected and it has healing and feeding so you can chill while you get started. There are anti grief and anti cheat systems and also moderation tools and leaderboards so it feels pretty safe and organized.
Right now the End has not been touched and they are planning an Ender Dragon event on January 3rd at 9 AM CST. They said more community events will happen after that so it seems like they want players to actually play together.

This is a new Minecraft SMP that is all about Lifesteal and PVP. The server has only been up for a few days so the world still feels really fresh.
There is a 3000 by 3000 block world border so players run into each other pretty often. It makes fights happen more and bases are not super far away.
The server has one person sleep so nights go by faster which is nice for building and exploring. It also supports both of Xaero maps so it is easier to find your way around.
There is simple voice chat so players can talk in game and it makes fights and teaming way more fun.

This server is called The United SMP and it is a semi anarchy world where everything feels kind of unstable in a fun way. You can try to live out those crazy smp dreams and see how long you can last.
There is a starter kit so new players can jump into pvp fast and not feel totally weak. You can team up with friends and try to conquer the server or just run around and cause chaos.
Around the map there are massive builds that have really strong loot and gear. These builds are also used for events and other stuff that is planned so it feels like the world is full of big things to explore.

Spugunke is a new semi vanilla survival server that is all about community and long term worlds. It just started so new players can actually help shape the map and be there from the beginning.
Most of the server is about player made towns and teams. People can start towns build shared bases make farms and work on big projects together. You can join teams that like pvp or exploring or grinding resources. You can also play solo if you want and still be part of the world.

This is a semi vanilla survival server where the owner and some friends built their own custom features. The code is made for this server only and most of the textures are made by the community so it still looks like normal Minecraft but with their own style.

This server is a chill vanilla world that is only for adults who are 21 and older. It is whitelist so the community stays small and relaxed. Everyone plays on a fresh map for season 3 so new people can join in from the start.
