This server is a vanilla style survival world that starts you in the middle of an ocean. When you join you have to swim or use a boat to reach land and then you can start your own journey.
The world is really old and was first made in 2011 so you can find super old terrain mixed with newer areas and a lot of ruins if you explore far enough. It feels like digging through Minecraft history while still finding fresh places to build.
The server uses a few simple datapacks that give you commands like trigger home and trigger spawn and you can set up to 10 homes per player. Other than that it plays like normal Minecraft with no changes to gameplay or terrain generation. Player and mob heads can sometimes drop in fights which is cool for trophies.

This server is a Hermitcraft style survival world that is trying to be long term and really community based. It is mostly vanilla and it feels like everyone is meant to build cool bases and projects together instead of rushing and leaving.

I found this server called The Tavern and it is a fresh vanilla SMP that started about a week ago. It already has a bunch of players and it can hit over twenty people online and still stay smooth with basically no lag.
The server is fully vanilla so it feels like normal Minecraft but with a lot of people around. They keep it up all the time so you can hop on whenever. There is a live map website you can look at and also a stats site so you can see things like how many blocks you placed.
They let redstone builds happen and they also allow things like litematica and minimaps. There are no server resets and there is no world border so you can just keep going and make big bases and farms without worrying it will all get wiped.
The community is really friendly and they do community projects and events. There is a Christmas tree building contest starting soon which sounds fun. It has a Hermitcraft style vibe with people working together but still doing their own thing. I found this survival server that feels pretty wild and also really active. It is a classic style world with no hacks allowed and only a few small plugins so it still feels like real vanilla Minecraft.
