SupaSMP is a survival server that feels really clean and polished and still kind of close to vanilla. It has skills jobs quests and a smooth progression system so you get stronger just by playing normally.
There are four main worlds you can teleport to. There is a main survival world then a mining world plus nether and end. That way people can grab resources without destroying the main survival world.
While you play you level up unlock perks do quests and advance in different jobs. You also earn money and use a player based economy with player shops trading an auction house and daily rewards.
The paid stuff is cosmetic only like tool skins tags emojis and pets. There is no pay to win so everyone plays fair.
If you like pvp there is an arena supply drops koth events and dungeons with custom mobs that you can choose to run. If you just want to chill you can build farm explore and hang out with a friendly community that supports all playstyles.
The server works on both Java and Bedrock and it is made for version 1.21 and plays best on 1.21.8.

This server is called 1fighter2defenders and people also call it 1f2d. It is a survival world where there are basically no rules. The map never resets so everything people do stays there.
You can grief and you can build and you can cheat. The owners say everything goes so you have to be ready for chaos and danger all the time. If you like safe and quiet this is not really it.
The server has been running since 2021 so it is over four and a half years old and thousands of players have joined at least once. That makes the world feel pretty old and lived in.
The main version is 1.21 but it also supports versions from 1.17 up to 1.21.10 so a lot of players can connect with different clients.

I found this server called Anarchy Network and it is a semi anarchy world that feels really close to vanilla. It started on October 11th 2024 and it runs all the time so you can join whenever.
The server lets you play pure survival with almost no rules. Griefing is allowed and pvp is allowed so you always have to watch your back. There are no map resets so whatever you build can stay there as long as the world exists.
You can join on Java from version 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10 but they say that 1.21.10 is the best so things do not break. The world border is huge at two million blocks so there is a lot of land to explore and hide in.
There are almost no commands. There is no teleporting and no pay to win shop. The only non vanilla thing you can do is use spawn so people that went really far out do not get stuck alone forever. They also let you use the nether roof and they removed phantoms and only half the players need to sleep to skip night.
The rules are pretty simple. You cannot use exploits or dupes. You cannot make lag machines or spam and you are not allowed to harass people or use racial slurs in chat. Other than that the server really just lets players do what they want.

This server is called 6b6t and it is made to feel like 2b2t but without the crazy queue. You can just join and play right away and that is actually really nice.
It allows cracked players and normal Java players and also Bedrock and MCPE players so pretty much anyone can get on. When I checked there were around 150 to 200 people online which makes the world feel busy and alive.
The world is anarchy so there are no real rules and people do whatever they want. You will see big ruined builds and random bases and lots of fighting. People raid and grief and it can be pretty wild.
There is also a community feeling even if it is kind of chaotic. The screenshots were taken at the RainGang community base so some groups of players work together and build stuff even in all the madness.
If you like dangerous survival with no queue and lots of players and you do not care about rules then 6b6t is a good place to try.

Oakwood SMP is a semi vanilla survival server that just feels super calm and simple. When I joined it felt like a normal singleplayer world but with a bunch of friendly people around. There is no crazy stuff going on and no pay to win mess.
The owner really pushes players to talk and play together. People actually say hi and help each other out. It is really beginner friendly so even if you are new you will not feel lost. You can just log in mine a bit build something and log off feeling relaxed.
The gameplay is fair and the progression feels smooth. It is mostly vanilla with some quality of life things so the game stays clean. It is meant for players who just want calm survival building and making friends without stress.
The server runs on version 1.21.x and it is online all the time. It also supports Bedrock players and is hosted in India for good ping if you are nearby.

This is an anarchy style server called MinecraftOffline and the whole thing is based on a permanent map that never resets. The world just keeps going so anything you build or destroy can stay there for a long time.

Everbloom SMP Network is a server with two different survival worlds so you can pick how you want to play.
There is a survival season that starts on December 13. It lets you farm a lot and use redstone and even go on the nether roof. PvP is on and raiding is allowed so this world is more risky. There is a 75k world border and people use diamond gear only with no maces so the fights stay pretty fair.
There is also Everbloom Casual SMP. This one is for people who just want to chill and build and explore. It has custom terrain and structures but it still feels like normal vanilla Minecraft. In this mode there is no PvP and no griefing and no raiding at all. You just build farms and bases and hang out.

This server is called Dominion Society and it feels a lot like Hermitcraft but smaller and just starting out. It is a survival world that wants to last a long time and the players care about creativity and building cool things together.
The server is mostly vanilla. There are some datapacks that help with stuff like AFK display durability pings coordinates HUD and multiplayer sleep. There is also BlueMap so you can look at the world from above and proximity voice chat so talking feels more real. TNT duping is allowed and there is a player run shopping district where everyone can set up shops.
They do big kickoff events where new players join at the same time as the older members. Everyone meets explores and builds together and they even run minigames during the event so nobody has to start alone.
Rules are simple. No griefing stealing or harassment. No hacks dupes or exploits. Chat should stay mature and friendly. PVP has to be agreed on by both players.
