I found a server called Project Tempus and it is built to feel like a real civilization under pressure. The server is only online for four hours each day and it runs in set windows. That means everyone shows up at the same time and stuff like trading politics and fights happen in person.
Your base stays safe when the server is offline so you do not get wiped while you are asleep or at school.
The big twist is the time economy. You earn time just by staying alive in game and you can spend that time to craft stronger gear. You can also trade time to other players like paying someone with minutes.
There is also a class system so people have to work together. Farmers are the real crop makers because food grows way slower for everyone else. Smiths lower the time cost for crafting and repairs. Mercenaries get combat help because mobs are stronger. Miners get better yields for gathering resources.
It is hardcore too. If you die you get banned until the next window opens unless you pay a big time tax to come back right away.

The world is split into two zones. The Green Zone is from 0 to 5k and it has no PvP and no stealing and no griefing. It also has no generated structures so it feels like it is made for builders and trade and lore. The Red Zone starts at 5k and beyond and it has PvP on and stealing is allowed and vanilla structures are there for exploring. Griefing is still not allowed so fights are more organized.
The End is disabled so there are no elytras and no shulker farms. Travel matters more and you move by land and sea and the Nether.
This server is meant to last with no planned resets. The economy uses diamonds. Teams can level up by using diamonds and unlock perks like extra warps shared storage and more member slots. There are also seasonal competitions with lore based rewards like armor trims and shulker boxes. It runs on version 1.21.11 and supports both Java and Bedrock.
