I found Calito Nations and it is a survival civilization server where politics actually matters. It just opened early access and they want founding players to help shape everything.
You can start a town and then pick how it is run like autocracy oligarchy constitutional monarchy republic or direct democracy. The government type changes real costs like upkeep land claims and expansion. Some styles give you more control but can drain your treasury and some are cheaper but you have to deal with votes.
Elections use ranked choice voting so it is not just whoever screams loudest. Your vote weight depends on stuff like how long you lived there how much gold you put in and if you have been active recently with a cap so one person cannot own the whole town.
Every town has a tension score and if leaders ignore problems it can spiral into petitions defections and even secession movements. Nations can siege towns on scheduled weekend battle sessions. If you win you plunder then occupy the town and take part of their daily resource production. The server runs on Java 1.21.6+ and uses Folia.
