I found a Brazilian community server getting ready to open and it is focused on AllTheMons with a big arena duel system.
They made their own serverside mod called CobblemonArena so you can join without installing anything and just fight.
You can do direct challenges or jump into matchmaking with commands. When a battle starts the arena closes up in a circle so nobody can mess with it.
Duels run with a 10 minute timer and 6 Pokemon with free switching. You win by having more Pokemon still alive and ties go to whoever has more total HP.
There is no automatic healing after a duel so your team leaves the same way it entered and every match feels serious. People can also watch as spectators and the results post to Discord with a ranking bot.
They are still finishing development and the server is not open yet but they say they are close.

Provim is a semi vanilla SMP that tries to keep the classic Minecraft feeling but adds custom stuff that still fits in. The custom features are made by their own team for this server.
You can rank up by playing and it is not pay to win. It feels like you get rewarded for sticking around and putting in time.
There is also a Story Mode adventure across islands with quests and secrets. It works if you want to explore alone or bring friends.

Cobblemon Champions is a Cobblemon server that is built around competitive balance while still being social and fun. It does not let battles turn into a mess from power creep or wallet wins.
The big thing here is a custom points based system where every Pokemon has a point value. You build teams to fit a seasonal cap and right now Season 3 is live with a 38 point cap so fights stay fair and creative.
There are player run gyms plus an Elite 4 with real rules and real stakes. Gyms rotate by season and progression is meant to feel meaningful.
If you like organized play they run draft leagues and tournaments with weekly battles playoffs and championship events. PvE content like raids bosses monuments and events is made to help you build better teams instead of just AFK farming.
