I found a Java survival server called JSMC that started because the owner got tired of the same friend group worlds dying after two weeks.
This one is meant to keep going even after the Ender Dragon. It has been on the same world for about 8 months with no wipes and no resets. The pace is slower and it does not lean on gimmicks.
People focus on builds that are meant to last and a lot of the map is set up in themed areas so it feels connected over time. Not everyone stays forever but the players who do stick around tend to stay for months.
A Survival World That Never Resets

GG.MINEWIND.NET New Server IPHemisphere SMP Long-Term Hermitcraft World

This is a semi vanilla survival server that has been running the same world for ten years. It feels like a Hermitcraft style server with a ton of history everywhere you look. There are big builds and redstone and also lots of chill spots just for hanging out.
The server runs Java 1.21.11 with Fabric but the gameplay is still normal Minecraft. The mechanics are vanilla and there is no teleporting or weird plugins or modded blocks. It has stuff like proximity voice chat custom music discs and some small tweaks like more mob heads armor statues and wandering trades to make things cooler.
There are themed build districts that keep growing and a mini game district where people host game nights. Someone even made their own version of Decked Out like Tango did so there is a lot to play besides just mining and building.
The community is the main focus and everyone uses Discord to talk plan projects and share ideas. You have to join and apply before you can play. When you apply you still get spectator access right away so you can fly around and see the world while you wait to be whitelisted.
It feels like a place for builders redstone fans lore people or anyone who just wants a long term forever world to call home.
