I found this server called Iperios and it is built around making nations. You can start your own nation with your own government style your own laws and your own ranks. If you do not feel like leading you can just join a nation that already exists.

The server is running the Allthemods 10 modpack on version 5.4 so you have to use that version to join. It is a whitelist server so first you join the discord and ask to get whitelisted. The info for new players is explained there.

When you join the actual server a staff member helps you out. They guide you at the start and give you a beginner kit so you are not lost right away. After that you can go off and play how you want and get into the whole nation thing.

This is a survival SMP called Helianthus Season 2 and it is made to last a long time. Progress is slower and more punishing on purpose so you really need to play with other people and not just solo.

You join one of three Houses. Adamant is all about industry and mining like a big company. Demeter is about nature and farming and kind of communistic. Theurgy is the magic house with greedy warlocks and explorers. Each house has its own style so it feels like factions but more role play.

The server world gets harder in stages. At the start it is normal difficulty where surviving is tough but still manageable if you stick with your house. When someone enters the Nether the whole world becomes more dangerous and mobs get tougher. When players reach the End the world turns extreme and late game is super wild but by then everyone is strong.

There is a custom role play system with player led houses and monopolies. What you do actually changes how the server is structured and how powerful your house is. There are relics trade wars and territory struggles. Resources in the world are limited so you have to dominate or negotiate or trade to get what you need.

It feels like a serious but fun SMP where teamwork really matters and greedy players and smart traders can change everything.

Kingdom of Crobus is a Java SMP that feels like normal Minecraft but with some extra stuff that makes it easier to play. It is made for people who like survival and building and getting stronger over time but do not want a giant confusing modpack.

The server has a player economy where you can earn money with jobs and then spend it in server shops or player shops. You can pick what you want to do like build a base trade with others get a job or even try to lead a clan.

There are clans so players can team up or have little rivalries. Land claims keep your builds safe. There are warps homes and tpa so it is not a pain to travel around. There is also real time Dynmap so you can see the world from a map.

PvP is not forced on you. It is optional with a pvp toggle so you can stay peaceful if you just want to build and chill. The server uses one player sleep so nights go by faster when someone goes to bed.

This is a hardcore SMP called Bloodlines that is built around civilizations and clans. You do not just spawn alone. You get invited and become part of a family and a clan that already has a story.

The server is invite only and every new player has to be invited by someone who is already inside. This makes the population grow slowly and helps keep trolls away. It feels more like a real world where people know someone to get in.

There are secret tweaks and special mechanics on the server but there are no guides. Players are supposed to discover everything by themselves. If you pay attention and stay dedicated you get rewarded by learning how the world really works.

5tarRock is a semi vanilla geopolitical survival server that works on both Java and Bedrock. The world is really tough and you actually have to think if you want to live. Resources are not evenly spread out and the environments can be super hostile so where you settle and who you team with actually matters a lot.

The server has realistic style systems that make exploring and specializing feel important. Ores generate based on tectonic plates so you cannot just dig anywhere and expect the same stuff. Biome temperature affects how your crops grow so farming is different in each region. The world has huge landmasses that are disconnected so no single region has every resource you need.

Because of that you either explore trade or just take what you want. You can play solo or in a group and both styles can work if you adapt. There is also a reworked combat system and some world lore so the server feels more like its own world.

There is a contest going on for a new logo and banner for the server. It is for human made art only and no ai or stolen art is allowed. You can enter with a logo a banner or both and there is prize money for the winners. Even if you do not join the contest you can still join the server and play on this challenging geopolitical world.

SMPPixel is a survival server that is part of a new network. Right now it is the main world but more servers are being worked on.

The server has a really nice looking spawn. There are special commands like magic and clickright that give you different fun systems to mess with when you first join.

If you want an easier start they also use codes that you can find in their community. It feels like they want new players to have a smooth early game and then get into survival and pvp once you are ready.

This is a basic vanilla server that has been running for about two years and it feels really stable and comfy. The world gets backed up every day so builds feel pretty safe but the actual gameplay is still wild and survival focused.

The community is active with a lot of nice players and some really good builders. People here like to team up and do co op stuff and you even get rewards for bringing friends. Staff is friendly and the server runs 24 7 on a dedicated machine so there is basically no lag.

The rules are strict about cheating and bad behavior. No hacking no cheating no exploiting no racism no lag machines no threats no x ray and no bullying. Chat has to stay clean and if you break those rules it can be a permanent ban.

But the play style itself is pretty hardcore. PVP is allowed griefing is allowed and so is stealing and raiding. You can make huge farms use redstone machines build mob farms and load new chunks as much as you want. It is kind of a mix of friendly people with ruthless survival rules.

Spawn has a 100 block protection so the very center is safe but once you leave that you are on your own. The server also uses voting on different websites to keep growing. It already feels like it is getting bigger and better and new players can totally become one of the leaders if they stick around.
