This server is called EVA SMP and it feels like a long term world where you are supposed to take your time and grow slowly. It is Java Edition 1.20.2 and you just join without extra downloads.
The server uses something called Economy Points. You use these along with allegiances and territory to get stronger and unlock stuff. As you play you can get custom armor and supernatural abilities instead of getting everything right away.
Their factions are called allegiances. You can join one or start your own or just stay solo. You can trade with people explore build and join in conflicts and world events as new systems and tech get added over time.
There is a big World Tree dungeon that is part of the lore. In there you can fight harder enemies for special armor and rewards you cannot craft normally.
If you do not like fighting you can still progress. You can get special items quality of life stuff and Economy Points by building and farming so chill players are not left behind.
Right now the server is in beta and they are looking for people who want to test things give feedback and help shape how the server will be in the future.
